1 year review update
Review after 1 year and 5 months: my Hypresso coffee machine is still chugging along after 17 months of daily use. No issues to report. It just keeps churning out great specialty drinks. I will continue to keep you informed as time goes by. Scroll down to read my initial review, 9 month, and one year reviews. After one year, this machine has been a true workhorse. I haven’t cleaned it in several months, but it continues to work. Even the milk frother still works great. That being said, I’ll address a few issues mentioned in other reviews. Upon occasion, I too have received the message to add more beans when the hopper has plenty of beans already. However, this only happens with Starbucks Espresso beans, which are greasy. I have never received this message using nongreasy beans. Another issue mentioned are watered down pucks. I also had this problem at first. Periodically you are supposed to remove and clean the puck maker inside the machine. If the puck maker is not aligned perfectly when inserted back into the machine then the connection between the pressure tube and puck maker will not be tight. A loose connection allows steam to enter the discharged puck bin causing the used pucks to become watered down. Make sure the connection is tight when inserting the puck maker back into the machine. Another reviewer complained the build quality doesn’t measure up to the quality of a Miele or Java. Fortunately you are not paying two and a half times as much either. Also, the adjustable grinder will grind espresso beans every bit as fine and powdery as the commercial grinders in grocery stores. Some have complained of a plastic taste. That could be true when the machine new, but should go away after use. I’ve never experienced that issue from day one. Some say the coffee isn’t hot enough. The temperature is adjustable. This machine contains two boilers and dispenses very hot coffee or hot water. It burns if it splashes on me. Would I buy this machine if I had it to do over? Indeed I would. Considering all the features and drinks this machine offers at the touch of a button, it’s a very good machine for the money. Review after 9 months: Even though I have not been cleaning my machine as often as I should be (too lazy), almost to the point of abuse, I have not experienced a single problem with my machine itself…not one. I typically use it twice daily, Americano in the morning and a specialty drink in the evening sometime between dinner and bedtime. However, I tossed the separate free standing milk frother, because it’s frothing tube was never a tight fit and the milk container started to smell bad. Nothing I’ve tried works better than pouring fresh milk into a separate large cup and then removing the end of the long clear plastic frothing tube from the chrome tray and sticking it into the bottom of the cup of milk. After my drink is made, I dump the unused milk back into the original milk container and stick the end of the frothing tube back into the chrome tray and then select the milk cleaning option on the color screen. This works every single time. This machine has been a real workhorse. Original review: This machine first became available in the U.S. in late 2019 and on Amazon in February 2021. Amazon had 11 that sold out within a week. I was lucky. Now it's hard to find anywhere in the U.S. as of 3/6/2021. Being so new to the market, I knew buying this machine would be an expensive risk. However, most dual boiler automatic machines with this many features cost twice as much, so I pulled the trigger. So far, this machine is excellent. The coffee comes out quick and super hot. The description failed to mention the machine includes a separate free standing stainless steel storage container for frothing milk. The bean grinder is relatively quiet compared to other machines with a built-in grinder. I think one reason this machine is difficult to find at this time is because the manufacturer is still testing the demand in America. For example, although the custom drink settings only display metric measurements, the machine itself uses a normal U.S. style power plug. Of course, the real test is durability, which I will update you on at a later date. My first impression is this machine does appear to be designed more for the heavy use of an office environment than a family kitchen appliance. For example, although any drink can be manually customized, only one custom drink setting can be saved for future use, which makes sense in an office environment with a lot of people sharing the same machine. Whereas in a home kitchen, individual profile settings for each family member would be nice. Nevertheless, in my opinion the default drink settings are acceptable. This machine also uses less real estate than most high end Espresso Machines. It looks awesome and receives lots of compliments. My advise: If you get a kick out of making artistic espresso milk drinks like a true barista, then the Breville Barista machine is a great choice, but if you're like me and simply want a macchiato at the touch of button, this is the machine for you. Good luck finding one. My initial review was just before the pandemic struck, which probably had some impact then and since on the availability of this machine in the U.S. Nevertheless, it’s now six months later and time for an update. As mentioned above, my machine came with a free standing stainless steel milk dispenser that only worked occasionally and smelled awful after a couple of weeks use. I find it’s so much easier (and works consistently) just placing the end of the long milk tube into the bottom of a glass of milk. After the machine is done making your drink, pour any unused milk from the glass back into the milk carton and rinse the glass. What could be easier? As far as the machine itself goes, this coffee machine remains solid after making hundreds of drinks. My only real complaint is how easy the chrome cup-platform scratches. I suppose in an office environment that only uses paper cups, this wouldn’t be a problem. I use glass mugs and my platform is now covered in unsightly scratches. Also, the hot water dispenses a bit too forcefully at first, sometimes causing splattering on the machine, cup platform, and even the counter. However, this problem is greatly minimized by lowering the dispenser to the top of your coffee cup each time you make a cup of coffee, which (in my mind) is an extra step that seemingly shouldn’t be necessary. I should also mention that I’m not good at following the recommended cleaning procedures and maintenance schedule, so I’m probably abusing my machine to some extent. Still, I have had no issues. That being said, so far, I would not hesitate buying this coffee maker again or recommending it to a friend. It’s certainly the nicest and most expensive coffee machine I’ve ever owned, but I have no buyers remorse whatsoever.

Not worth the trouble
1st machine would not start after one month of use. No way to reset the software to get machine to operate. After hours of taking on the phone a second machine was sent. Milk froth issues after two months. Viewed seal changing video replaced after three hours to do. Machine milk froth would still not operate, no suction. This product is poor quality, with no US parts available, no US service available. For a $1000 dollar machine I feel I was ripped off. I have recently ordered a Philips 5400. Will see how a product from Romania will do. At least they have a two year warranty and a US service center.

So far, EXCEEDED my expectations! I’ve done my research!
***I’ll continue to update my review as I have my machine!**** ***5 week update!*** After fine tuning my perfect settings, this makes a great tasting espresso/americano! If you like stronger drinks, remember with all machines adding too much strength to an espresso will only water it down. It can only make a certain puck size. If you like stronger settings, make your drink a double and use lower settings. Then by the time it makes the “double” it comes out great. We had some issues with the milk tube, but the customer service HAS BEEN THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN! They made sure it was working properly again and walked me through what they thought was wrong and assured me, they would make it right. The cappuccinos and lattes are excellent in this machine too, once you get your preferred settings down. Cleaning has been great and easy! Also, don’t forget to use Espresso roast beans for the best crema! This machine by far, has one of the sleekest and nicest touch screens on a coffee machine. I was skeptical of buying this at first for a couple of reasons. One, I just bought a much more expensive machine (Saeco Xselsis) and I had problems from almost the get do and it stopped working after 4 months and Phillips didn’t want to make it right. Which brings me to my second concern, no reviews, newer brand and half the price. I know usually when you see a great price, you think wow.... I however do not, I think, what’s wrong? I know with Amazon we have a 30 day return period and I contacted the seller and they answered all my questions immediately, so I pulled the trigger. First impressions...... I’m blown away! The machine looks great, has many options and the adjustability on the drinks and the taste is great. Also, out of all the super automatic machines, this seems to have the highest temp. So far, I can’t recommend this machine enough to anyone doing research, I’ve done my research and have had machines and this is good so far. I’ll give you some comparables to other machines and you can find out if it’s a deal breaker. To me there are always going to be cons to a machine, but you can find work around a for. 1. You can’t create profiles, so you can save your customized drinks. BUT, you can change and save the way any of the drinks come out. So, if only 2 people are using the machine, having profiles isn’t a deal breaker. Plus once you hit a drink you can customize just that one drink before it pours and it will just save it back to the settings you have it on. Side note: if you have 2 people that like lattes, but you like you’re lattes different. You can customize the latte button to one person and they have a button for double latte (so you can make two at one time). Just change the settings for the double latte to a single and now you have customized profiles. :) 2. You can’t change it to ounces (for us Americans), but espresso drinks are better customized with ML. Once you learn how many ML you like and need, this isn’t a problem. 3. You can’t change the order of what comes first on drinks. I personally think milk should always go first on milk based drinks, but again to us, not a deal breaker. 4. The milk tube looks like it’s cheap, but it actually works well. We like it, because it’s easy to clean. Although the machine can clean the tube after every milk use, I suggest taking it off and doing a quick 10 second rinse after the machine does it’s cleaning. We also have a container the tube goes in that we pull in and out of the fridge, so you don’t have to put a tube in your milk carton. 5. I don’t like where the water container is, it’s in the back. Luckily, you don’t have to pull it straight up, you can just pull it away from the machine. For daily use (ours sits on the counter underneath cabinets), it’s a pain to have to maneuver the machine to be able to pull out the water, when it needs to be filled. We’re looking at how we can run a line from our fridge to the machine for easier fill up. OVERALL, I’m super impressed with the machine. As I said, I’ll get updating my review as times goes on and more cleaning happens. After all, when you pay these prices for a coffee machine, you want it to last longer than a few months and a couple of years. If you’re debating, pull the trigger on this machine, from this seller, they have been great!

Updated - First Month Impressions
My first impressions on this machine are overall good. However, the user manual is woefully inadequate. I'm rating it 3stars until I've figured out all my questions, then will reevaluate how I feel about the operation of the machine. 1. There are no instructions on how to use the milk frother/steamer. There are instructions for installing the tube and cleaning the system, but if you follow the instructions in the booklet and on the screen for a latte - there is no mention of what to do. Now, I figured it out, but I shouldn't have to. This needs to be included in the manual, especially as there are no instructions on the touch screen. 2. There are next-to-no instructions for using pre-ground coffee. There are instructions for where the pre-ground funnel is, but there is nothing to indicate how to tell the machine to use pre-grounds. I figured out that is what a button on the touch screen is for - but again, I shouldn't have these basic questions and I shouldn't have to trial-and-error the machine. My first experiments went well in terms of flavor and I'm glad there are so many customizable options for the drinks; this will be the next set of experiments. May 2021: I've upgraded this machine to 4 stars after I've learned how to achieve what I want. My only misgiving is that it does not heat milk to my expectation, even with changing the various drink settings. However, after making my drink I pop it on the microwave for about 1minute and it's delicious. I don't know why the temp of the milk is subpar, but as I prefer that this machine heats and froths the milk within the machine instead of a wand attachment, I'm happy overall.

Awful
This is not a $800 machine. The screen is nice, but that is it. It made very weak expresso. So week that where the "puks" drop, was full of water and grounds. No puk. Constantly alerted to add beans. There were beans in it. Hard to get to water basin and can not take out. So not very good when u want to empty or clean. The frother is crazy. You put one end of a tube in whatever container u want. The froth is more water than milk. My advice, pay extra for a brand you know. I also bought the De'Longhi Dinamica which is fantastic.

Perfect Cup of Joe
***BE SURE TO DESCALE ONCE A MONTH*** Otherwise your milk frother will not suck up the milk, until you DESCALE it Hands down the best coffee machine purchase i have made!! It even arrived much earlier than it had said it would. This product is made and shipped from China, but they ship it to an American warehouse to have in stock, so it gets to you quicker. It is very confusing with all the set up instructions. It never instructs you on what to put certain settings on when doing the start up. I'm assuming it's just wanting you to go thru the menu to get familiar with what you can do. You will go thru a lot of water because it rinses itself after every use and when you power it off. It took me awhile to figure out the milk you use, actually goes into a cup and you put the tube into the cup! There was no pictures or instructions to tell you this!! I'm very glad I took the plunge and purchased this machine. I will never have a regular cup of coffee again! I do add my favorite flavored creamer in my cup and my collagen peptide powder, then I set it to whatever I'm in the mood for. Perfect cup each time!! You will definitely have everyone wanting to come over and use it!

Not worth it
The machine keeps saying to "fill beans", when they are there. It does not show the information in Ounces or Degrees, only ML and Celsius. Would not make the 2 cup setting as it thinks it is out of beans. The instructions are not detailed and hard to read as they have dark pictures, with dark print. The water tank (which is small based on the competition) is in the back; therefore, you have to pull the machine out from under the cabinet to fill it up, let alone see how much water is left. It takes a long time to heat up. The "pucks" of coffee are liquid, which means the pressure is not at 19 Bars, as stated in the description. Overall, it is a cheap performing machine to the Mieles' & Juras' of the world. I would not recommend it as I am returning it based on product issues.

Very nice coffee maker
Love this coffee machine, but as people have said before, high maintainance but I don't mind, there is no way around it since it involves used coffee grinding and water cleaning process to empty and clean, the only I am worried down the line is with the warrantee since I could not find any support number, please inform if there is any for future parts for tech support.
