Kohler 30316 Replacement Part

Product was exactly what I needed for my original Kohler shower handle. Fit the original fixture with no problems and appears to be a solid/quality product. The only reason I knocked the value for the money, is it's hard to believe a large pcs. of plastic costs $30 -40. Probably costs 30 cents (or less) to make, therefore an $8 - 10 price range would be more appropriate.

Used these to replace the originals. In my bathrooms. They fit perfectly!

It's a shower handle. Easy to install. Except for the cap at the end of installation.. that was a bit tricky. Otherwise, outstandingly easy to assemble.

Perfect fit a Kohler bathtub for a home built in the early 2000s. Couldnt find a universal handle to fit this bathroom, and I was contemplating changing the whole shower mixer which would have been expensive endeavor, so this genuine part was a $$ saver.

It's the identical part to the original on our 22 year old shower. I didn't give it 5 stars because I can't for the life of me figure out how to insert the decorative plastic center cap, without pounding it in and possibly breaking the whole handle. But it works fine without the cap installed, and looks way better than the 22 year old one.

Bought this to replace a broken handle and it only lasted -30 days before breaking as well. Got a replacement within the return period and the replacement knob has also broken already. That's 2 broken handles within 2 months. The square-shaped insert where it grips/rests against the plastic spigot, where the screw goes in the middle, broke on both handles. If the screw is tightened too much to maximize grip on the valve then the plastic either cracks or the knob won't turn because of the pressure. If not tightened enough then the knob is loose when you try to turn on the shower. There is not a middle ground that will ensure that the plastic won't break on the inside.

9/25/2020 if you have an old Kohler bathtub with a single knob set up (see Pic1), this #30316 replacement is the perfect match! No hardware store in town carried it. Glad they're still making them.*Update: 8/5/21: Unfortunately, it's made of hard plastic. Only lasted about 10 months until the inside piece that holds the screw in place broke off (Pic2). Ordered another one, but to my frustration it arrived broken around the rim (Pic 3). Amazon will replace it, but wish I had another knob option!
