Try this *before* all the other products. Fit and forget.
Having tried all kinds of different tapes and pads to keep our living room rug from creeping and causing a trip hazard, I was about ready to give up and use the industrial carpet tape on my new wood floors, but in a last ditch effort tried this instead. I'm so glad I did. Several months later it hasn't moved at all and exceeds expectations. Easy to cut to size, provides extra cushioning and holds in place without being sticky. I was able to move it multiple times when installing so I know removal will be a breeze. A *million* times better than the alternative products out there.

Works very well - front door no longer pushes rug aside!
Works well! Able to use the new rug in front of the front door without the door pushing it around.Very grippy and no more issues with rugs sliding around!Very good product! Would recommend to others.

Works Fine, Good for Dogs, but Requires Occasional Adjustments. Requires pressure to work.
Had the product for a year now and no major issues. It stops the rug from sliding when you walk on it.Pros:Got it because my dog likes to gallop and slide across a hallway rug while chasing things. The product does a good job keeping things in place, but will occasionally bunch up underneath in a way that I notice while walking over. The worst is when the dog is kicking the rug in it's sleep.I do have to readjust the rug every so often, probably once a month. It will peak out after vigorous running across it, but it's a minor thing that only takes a minute.Dog hair doesn't seem to affect it. I have a little build up under the grip pad, but there's still no slipping.Cons:I have noticed that it slips easily when pushed from the side. My conclusion is that this product is most effective when it is being squished. I've seen a few people in the comments who used with with a throw rug on a couch and this doesn't seem to be the product for that. It's not inherently sticky, so it will slide more easily on smooth surfaces if it's not being squished. That being said, I used to be able to run and jump on the rug and it would slide across the floor. Now it barely moves. It does seem to be degrading slowly though. It's probably from the dog kicking it, but the little foam balls on top are slowly coming off. It's only a few so far, and performance hasn't been affected. This product would probably be most effective if it was attached to the rug with a sticky backing, preventing the two from moving independently.

Kept rug from sliding.
The rug pad gripper worked perfectly to keep my oriental rug from slipping on my ceramic floor. It was easy to cut size.

Careful! This has made my runner a tripping hazard. When using, consider taping your rug down.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I had higher hopes for this Gorilla brand under runner.I'm not certain it's the products fault but my very thin runner doesn't stay in place when my dog runs over it and I've tripped so many times, I'm afraid I will fall over my runner. I'm debating not using it at all or taping the runner down on the edges. Slip resistance:Not what I was hoping for.Smell:I did not notice a strong odor, which is nice.Thickness:Moderately thick. It may lift your runner up too high and make it a tripping hazard without taping the edges of the runner down.

This Rug Pad Gripper Actually Works (With Tips To Ensure Adhesion)
I am so happy with these rug grippers by Gorilla Grip! To ensure both the rug gripper and rug remain in place, below are a few tips, which -- by trial and error -- worked perfectly for us.I have several thick throw rugs in my various bathrooms, each with a so-called non-skid rubber-like coating on the bottom, all of which never stayed in place. I lost count of the number of times I purchased similar rug grippers to this one (but never before by Gorilla Grip) -- from Bed, Bath & Beyond, Walmart, etc. Frustratingly, NONE held the rugs or the grippers in place, i.e., not only would the rug still move, but then the (other brand) grippers would "sneak out" beyond the border of the rug and look "tacky".These rug grippers were delivered on 10/26/2024, and we put them in place that day. Today is 12/30/2024, and they have not budged even a half inch after experimenting with different options and finding a solution that worked. TIPS:1) We cut each rug gripper in a rectangle shape to almost exactly ONE INCH from the edge all around each rug (you will need that small uncovered border near the edge of each rug not protected by the gripper pad for this solution to work).2) We first tried professional-grade MASKING TAPE. It did not stick at all to the non-stick rug bottom and it popped right off. Then we tried ProTape's professional PAINTER'S TAPE. That also did not adhere the non-stick rug bottom, and it, too, popped right off.3) On our third try, we added a continuous strip of GORILLA TAPE (Mini Duct Tape To-Go, 1" x 10 yd Travel Size), not their two-sided tape (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E5ZWT4/). We placed the MIDDLE of the Gorilla Tape over the rug gripper so that one-half inch of it covered the UNCOVERED border of the rug bottom, and the other half-inch was OVER the rug gripper.4) We are using the pet tool of a Black & Decker hand-vac to vacuum each rug on a weekly basis (if the rugs are visibly dirty and need to be washed, you likely will need to remove the Gorilla tape and rug gripper and see if the tape adheres after the rug is fully dry). One, I cannot say what the success rate would be if we did not take the extra step of using the Gorilla Tape. Two, I have never purchased woven/cotton rugs, such as those with fringed edges, so I don't know if our solution will work with them . Thus far, however, I am more than pleased that my rugs are not slipping and sliding, and that the rug grippers do not show beyond the edges of the rugs. I highly recommend this product.
