I really enjoy coffee. I use many systems from drip to, French press to Aeropress. I really was intrigued by the vacuum coffee makers like this one since I saw a fancier example on Breaking Bad. It's a great conversation piece. Everybody just loves it and beg to see it work. It works just as expected and makes a great cup of coffee. I've never run into cleaning difficulty because I rinse and clean after each use. The cloth filter does get dirty and requires some attention to clean. I would recommend a supply of filters. Since the unit is glass you should be ready to take proper precautions to lessen the chance of breaking. The alcohol lamp works fine but takes awhile to heat. I picked up a butane burner and start with hot water so the wait time is shortened considerably. If you are looking for a really cool gadget that is functional this is something I think you would enjoy along with a fine cup of your favorite coffee!

A bit cumbersome.The instructions could have been better, as well as the video.Brewed the coffee just fine, but took a while.Overall it's a lot of fun, and it looks really nice. I would recommend it.

Whenever we bust out the siphon, it transforms the kitchen island into a college ognic chemistry lab. Oky, not really, but it kind of has that vibe and that's how we vibe around here. Best coffee ever, and if you wander around in your bathrobe over your day clothes, you can channel your inner Dr Benjamin Franklin Pierce, sans C2H5OH.

Makes a wonderful coffee, a great pice of conversation for breakfast with the family and friends.

Not the greatest quality. Grounds keep getting into every batch I make.

This was the coolest thing to receive as a gift! Really well made and easy to find instructional YouTube videos of more explanation is needed.
