what is the litter made of?

The package only lists baking soda and odor eliminating particles. The texture is like a fine clay litter. That is all I can tell you.

why did the price double on arm & hammer cat litter?

Double ??? Not here price increase less than .25 cents maybe.

Used on my icy sidewalk and it made a sticky mess. Stuck to everyone's shoes and the stones.....How do I remove this from stone??????

It is cat litter, made of clay. Of course it will make a sticky mess when combined with water. It washes off easily with a warm water solution but may take quite a bit since it is made from clay and has clay properties.
