The aluminum mass gives the speaker a nice hefty feel and the controls are all standard for bluetooth devices, so it's easy as pie to link up to your smart phone. I tried several types of music on it and couldn't find any music that didn't sound good. It's true that the bass is nowhere near the bass of a boom box or a subwoofer in a car (doh, it's a tiny speaker), but for its size, I'm amazed at how good it sounds overall. The connecting cable, if you use it, saves battery life and provides what is, in my opinion, superior sound quality. If you don't watch the video, at least be sure to remove the plastic circle on the bottom protecting the non-skid pad, because without the slippery plastic on the non-skid pad, this powerful speaker will vibrate its way off the table and bounce on the floor. Just saying. Solid, impressive, well made speaker, one that you will treasure for years.Disclosure: I was supplied a sample in exchange for an honest review and I find that I really like this portable speaker, and in fact it has become my favorite portable.
