Great tent once pitched, but heavy and bulky, and time-consuming to pitch.
This is a wonderful tent. As a smallish woman and solo backpacker, it's just too heavy for me. It takes a long time to put up compared to my other 1 person tents. Both the extra weight and the extra assembly time are directly attributable to the cot. The tent itself is very nice, very lightweight, easily pitched (once you've assembled that dang cot), freestanding, two capacious vestibules. I tried mightily to figure out a way to use the tent without the cot since I liked everything else about it, but there just isn't. You have to have the cot frame to hold everything together. I never took it beyond my test night out in the backyard. I could easily picture a sudden downpour in which I was struggling to assemble it in the rain. In the end I went with a Tarptent Notch instead. I have a new granddaughter and I think it might be an excellent choice for naptime on the beach where you just pull it out of the car.
