Protect rv and the unit as well
Exactly what I needed to protect the electric in my van, at a glance you can see if there are any connection issues through the indicator lights and the cover over the unit will prevent most rain from it also the steel ring on the input cable helps take weight off plug and makes locking it a possibility

Saved 4 trailers already.
They work very well and already saved our 4 RVs from during a thunderstorm, here in Florida. Lightening struck closeby and power went out immediately. Power came back on quickly and the surge protectors were all ok.

Nearly 5 years of daily use in the Houston heat and STILL going!!
This thing has weathered frequent summer brown-outs, a hurricane, two tornadic storms and two lightning strikes on a power pole within 200 feet. The plastic cover failed in the first few months and we don't really know what the flashing light codes represent anymore. However, it does what it is supposed to do--and well. We thought it died after several close lightning strikes during a storm followed by the strategic rolling brownouts that followed when the county restored power. (It was already three years old by that point and had already endured several south Texas electrical hits.) We unplugged it for a few days, started bracing for the expense of a new one, and plugged it in one more time. After about 15 minutes, it reset itself and has worked perfectly since. If you're worried about water intrusion, most shore pole box lids have provided enough shelter. A strategically-placed heavy-duty trash bag over it will protect during snowstorms and monsoons. Buy a good kryptonite bicycle lock (or two) to thread through the eye hole in the back as well as your power cable to deter thieves.

Great product until you need company support
Bought this in 2021. Use it all the time. We've never had any errors. The cord from the RV to the surge protector fits extremely tight and hard to get apart for transport. I called Progressive to get a replacement since it melted one of the holes. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone told me to email pictures. I've sent 2 emails with pictures of both the RV connector and the surge protector. I have not received any replies from the company. It was a great product until you need assistance. I will find a new product for a replacement.

Paying for what you get isn’t always true...
The media could not be loaded. Purchased May 2020 to use toward our brand new 2020 grand design momentum 399TH. This product was highly recommended. We used it for the first time in July for me and my husbands bday vacation at Big River Oak RV resort. We followed all the directions, watched YouTube videos, read everyone’s Q&A, and read all the reviews prior to usage. We were very disappointed that it did not work. We got the error codes no matter which method we used. We made sure the power unit switch was turned off, then plugged in the protector, turned the switch on to let it test but still got an error code. No power to our RV at all. Maybe it works too well??? We couldn’t go with no power throughout our 5 day stay so we were forced to plug directly with no protection. We thought about returning it but figured we’d give it another try at another reservation we had for this Labor Day weekend at La Havienda RV resort. Same result ...and now we are past our return time frame and stuck with an expensive surge protector we can’t even use. Our only option now is to contact the manufacturer directly and see what we are doing wrong or if it’s a faulty. It’s still under warranty so I’m hoping that is the case...fingers cross. I will update this review if something can be done.OCT 2020 UPDATE: We were finally contacted by a Tech from Progressive and he helped us figure out why our surge protector was not working. All we had to do was wait 2-3 minutes after plugging it in and what do u know...it worked! After all this time! Unfortunately this was not included in the instructions. None of the YouTube videos we’ve watched had this suggestion either. The model we purchased was the EMS-PT50X. So anyone who purchased this protector and has come across the same issue...just be patient and wait 2-3 min is the key. We can now have peace of mind that our RV is protected. The last photo shows the protector working. So far so good...

Protects Your RV
Progressive RV Surge Protectors work and works well. I've had two, a 50AMP and now a 30AMP with the new RV. Easy to read and you know if the campground circuit is good or bad. We were in Vogel [GA] State Park when we heard a loud pop during a thunder storm and lost power to the RV. The campground circuit took a hit but the surge protector blocked it to our RV. We put the first Progressive surge protector through its paces and it has been in the rain for days on end and never failed. Well worth the investment and the peace of mind.
