While it may not match the speed of SSDs, the Barracuda still offers reasonably quick access times and transfer rates for its class. It's important to note that this drive strikes a balance between performance and affordability, making it suitable for those who need a large storage solution without breaking the bank. In terms of reliability, Seagate's reputation shines through. The Barracuda series is known for its durability and longevity, and this 8 TB variant is no exception. I have been using it for several months without encountering any significant issues, and its consistent performance has been reassuring. There are no included instructions for installations but you can find DIY videos online for setting it up within the system.

Excellent performer
As for mechanical hard disk, storage oriented, it's great. 150-160MB/S transfer rate with just 5400 rpm is a very good deal.

Not a high speed storage device
Great for storage but requires patients to transfer large files. It uses Shingled Magnetic Recording (SMR) technology. The problem with SMR drives is that when you overlap the tracks like this, it means that there's no way to write to just a single track without affecting the data on nearby tracks. Writing data to an SMR drive requires that the drive scan multiple tracks at once and then rewrite them. There's a significant performance penalty for doing so.
