For such a dark and horrifying genre of art and film, dark star provides a strangely comforting sensation when you delve into the world of Mr. Gieger. As a fan of the “Alien” movies and of the art before and after done by H.R., this documentary gives a beautiful insight into his personal life and the successes and tragedies therein.

Great film of about the life and the final year of a truly visionary artist. The devotion of his wife Carmen and his personal staff is great to see, especially due to H.R.G.'s obviously unhealthy state at the time of this documentary.

This is a documentary about the late H.R. Giger. He was an artist that became very well known after his work in the Alien franchise.

This man is like an artistic god to me. And this beautiful film is a wonderful summing-up of an amazing career. Sorrowful, respectful, human and humane.

This movie is probably not what most people would expect from a lengthy documentary about their favorite artist. It is more of a personal look into H.R. Giger's private circle. A big portion of the movie is dedicated to interviews with friends of his that express their admiration for his work. Little is said about his path to success. In this regards, I think it is a movie for true fans which are already in common with Giger's personality and history through books and other publications. This was the last movie shot before Giger's passing and though at the time he is clearly not in a very good health and did not communicate that much it deserves to be watched. I think this movie is a worthy farewell to one of the surrealism's biggest giants we had ever know. There is still no documentary produced that tells the story of H.R. Giger in its entirety. Hopefully, someone will do something about this.

Si eres un aficionado de Giger, tienes que tener este DVD. Durante una hora y media te sentirás como si estuvieras invitado a pasar una semana en su casa. Una compra que vale la pena en modo de tributo ya que murió a los pocos meses de salir en este documental. Hazte con tu trozo de la vida de Giger!
