Shockingly beneficial
Recently a nagging lower back problem got progressively worse, and I knew it was time to make a few adjustments to how I sit; both at home and work. I felt a little desperate so I jumped right to one of the pricier options instead of the cheaper back supports that I've seen around and even tested. This item is well worth the additional money. You might think of this as primarily for a desk chair, but I actually used it first in our recliner couch. After watching about an hour of TV, I could already feel a difference. And when I stood up, a huge improvement! No stiffness, less soreness, and generally just felt better. I took it to work the next day and same results -- less stiffness after working on the computer for 90 minutes (I try to make myself stand up and move every 60-90 minutes). And at the end of the work day, I felt much more mobile and less pain than I've had in a few months.Just as important as the support, it's also very comfortable. You really forget it's there. Because of it's taller shape that conforms to your back, it stays in place. I can also comfortably recline all the way back on our sofa and even took a bit of a nap with it!I'm writing this review after about 2 weeks of regular use, and my husband and I both have decided this is a must have for anywhere that we sit regularly.

100% better materials and design than any back rest in the office franchise stores.
Migraines have stopped showing up daily. This backrest gave me immediate relief with it's comfortable and solid cushion. I work sitting down for a living in an office and I'm tall. I like the adjustable band on the backside but it does slide as you move around but I have found that nearly impossible for anything to stay in place - this does a better job. The foam support pillow is velco'd and can be placed anywhere I need. Coworkers like to sit in my chair when I'm gone.I recommend getting Kensington solemate footrest also because the two keep me sitting aligned better as I have a tendency to slouch to look at my computers. Now I rarely slouch because the backrest keeps me supported and less likely to want to move from my more comfortable position.

Great for short office workers
This item is perfect for the short, petite office worker who needs to be propelled forward in the chair in order to create a 90 degree angle for the knees bend as well as to provide lumbar support adjustable at every level. The lumbar pad is velcro and the entire backrest serves as a board for it to attach to so you can literally place it wherever you like (major plus, and a feature not always available with other brands). The strap is long enough to reach around my rather bulky office chair (another feature not satisfied by other brands). The entire backrest is tall enough to reach the top of my chair. It actually fits really perfectly for my chair, though I imagine that is partially due to luck.My back feels better already! (paired with a foot rest - crucial for short office workers whose feet dangle!)

Comfortable but not the End All/Be All
I have had this backrest now for over a year. I sit in a chair most of my day at work and unfortunately do not have the greatest posture. Immediately, I loved the Obus Forme. As time went on, I still had issues with my posture and it did not relieve me of all my previous backpain from sitting so much. I would recommend this cushion if the alternatives are far more expensive. I could not do without it anymore as it is definitely better than just my regular office chair. But, I believe their are better options out there even maybe in the form of a more ergonomic chair. Unfortunately, those run in the hundreds to thousands.Overall, I would recommend this as the more economical alternative to an affordable backrest.

Post Trauma Back Support
I fractured by spine and needed to wear a back brace for 3 months. After removing the back brace I needed support that my weakened abdominal and back muscles couldn't provide over the long term (I sit all day at work. I am 5'3" and around 170 lbs and this brace fills my needs. It keeps me from curving my spine from side to side or slouching forward too much. The only complaint/suggestion I have would be the added lumbar pillow. Without the pillow there is not enough lumbar support for me. However with it in place, no matter how I position it, I have a feeling there is a lump behind my back. That may be just my injury since my fracture is almost the exact spot where the lumbar pillow is placed. Also when you move around the pillow bunches up easily. I think if I put a cover over the entire cushion with a material that has less traction the problem would be solved. Overall I recommend this product for the support it gives. I have two, one for work and one for home. It is sturdy and convenient to move around at home. The price is about right for the product.
