Don't Buy! These things run way small!
I usually wear a L and an XXL almost ripped my ears off when I tried to put it on. I used their sizing chart too! Their chart said that a XL would be a little large for me. But I like them just a little big. Well it was too small. So I thought that I would just give that one to my grand daughter for Christmas and order me an XXL. Another $30 freight and this one is still way to small even for her. So I called them and complained about the size chart, very poor fit, and $60 freight. I asked if they would spit the return freight with me. NO WAY. In fact their solution was for me to sell them locally. I couldn't in good faith sell it to anyone I knew. I just ate the $30 return freight. So a total of $60 in freight and nothing to show for it. Trust me on this, Unless you have a tiny head, buy from somewhere else.

Buyer Beware, Bad Bad!!!
First, I don't write many reviews but this transaction with this Typhoon helmet so bad I had to.The helmet is pretty but that's about as far as it goes. the fit is very small, I am an average sized guy 5' 11 and 200 # and I ordered a XXL and it was still very tight. What they call a breath box is a total joke. its like a flat piece of black cardboard type material with a wire to form over the top of the nose. It installs on 2 snaps on each side between the cheekpiece and the helmet, it took me 15 minutes to install it while the helmet was off. once it was on, there was no way I could put the helmet on making it totally useless.I purchased the one with the electric shield so I tried it thinking that would take care of the fogging, not even close. When I tried it out it fogged anytime that I slowed down to about 15mph. It was about 15 degrees F out and my breath fogged up the shield and my eyeglasses, The green light was on showing the helmet was getting power. There just isn't any place for your breath to go as there is a flap under your chin that seals the breath in. I had all the vents wide open, at higher speeds I didn't have as much trouble fogging but the helmet was cold.Calling the company was also futile, they didn't have any time to talk and said that I had to send the helmet back with me paying the postage and they stated all kinds of fees that they may charge upon getting the helmet back. I paid the postage to get the helmet back and now I received a notice stating that I received a refund that was $15 less than I paid with no explanation. So now I'm out $30 and a lot of time and frustration on trying to make this work.Bottom line is it isn't any good for a snowmobile helmet in Wisconsin or any place where its cold enough to have snow. Don't put yourself thru, it STAY AWAY from it.

Good Helmet for the price.
On the outside, this helmet looks amazing. For an XXL I thought it would fit well, but in my opining, it fits like an XL. The breath box is made of thin material, and is a bit of a pain when slipping on and off the helmet. It has a protective material at the bottom to keep cold air from slipping in, but, in the times I've been riding, I get a lot of cold air coming form underneath. I feel this is a good helmet for the money, but not of the quality I expected.

Great looking helmet, fits well
Looks good, fits good, heated visor works, no fogging in nasty weather the flip front is great for stops, you dont have to take the helmet off. I think it should have a latch on the chin strap instead of the old loop style, I had to put an aftermarket latch on the strap. It takes some doing to install the wire to the battery (At least on my Polaris) , the female plug on the wire to the battery, it has no cap to cover it when riding in nicer weather while not having it plugged in, I had to fabricate a cap myself. Also during a hail storm the top of the visor let hail inside even while it was closed, I did not expect to have ice pellets bouncing around my face with the visor down! Good helmet for the price but they missed some of the finer details.

**UPDATE 1-20-21** Can't beat it for the price
This thing was great. We went snowmobiling in -15 F weather with even lower wind chill and I was fine. Held up well and I had less complaints than people who paid $200+ and $300+ for their helmets. Having 2 shields and opening like it does makes it a great value and easy to talk on the trail. The heated shield and cords that come with it are, alone, over $100 for most other brands. My only complaint would be that it runs a tad small...but I had no real trouble with it. I would definitely buy another.***UPDATE *** 1-20-21 JUST SPENT LAST WEEK IN THE NORTH WOODS WITH ABSOLUTELY NO COMPLAINTS. WENT SLEDDING ALL THROUGH MERCER, PHELPS, AND UP IN TO THE UP...HEATED SHIELD WORKED GREAT. GUESS I GOT LUCKY AND GOT THE ONE THAT ACTUALLY WORKED. THIS IS MY SECOND SEASON USING IT AND LOVE IT.

I don’t write reviews. This is junk.
Within the first hour of riding, the assembly where the cord attaches to the shield broke. This left me with no way to keep the shield from fogging/freezing making it impossible to see the next two days of my trip. All the parts have that cheap plastic feel and the sheild kept popping out from where it mounted on the side, even though it was installed correctly. As many others have stated, the helmet runs small so if you do buy one get the next larger size.Lastly, the only reason I’m even giving them a couple stars is because they didn’t argue about returning it.Overall it was comfortable but because of the issues, I could not see which was dangerous and ruined my trip. You have been warned!! Spend a couple extra bucks and buy a name brand you can find on sale.

LOVE this economical helmet - thank you!!
Purchased in AUG and waited til JAN for snow and the chance to wear my new helmet - wow, worth the wait, i love it folks - you will not be dissed with this purchase and cannot go wrong for the price. Heated shield #1 has been a mystery in that from time to time it (after ruling out other electronics) caused the MFD on my 2014 Polaris Rush 600 to go blank - thank goodness i had a backup - installed it and no issues since. Typhoon requested the old shield to do some investigating so that's good news - seems as though they back up their products. Just ordered a pair of new leather gloves from Typhoon also. Thanks much.....see you on the trails.
