Great up/down counter with good sensor.
Instructions were clear and unit worked perfectly first time. I used the unit to count rotations of the anchor windless so as to know the amount of anchor chain that is paid out. This unit came with a nice quality hall effect proximity sensor. The counter has independent up and down count inputs. Connect the sensor, via a SPDT toggle switch to select when counting up or down. A reset switch or button is also needed.

Perfect of lathe speed!
Added this to a mini lathe to be able to set the 'sweet' spot on the speed for frequent projects.

Switch did not work.
I bought two of these for a putting green and am installing them to count attempted or made putts. In the testing phase, the first one I tried would come on but the switch would not activate. The second one worked great. I have a plethora of hall sensors and can wire one up that works, but quality testing must be one of those things they scrimp on to keep the price low.

I didn't notice that the counter can only respond at less than 100hz. No good for my application

Easily set up
This counter works well in my application. Easily set up . Although I give this product 4 stars there are two things that I would change. First the magnet for the sensor is not very strong. Also this unit does not have a reset switch included. Which i knew prior to purchase.

I have this item and it works perfectly. I got it three years now and still working very well. I use it as a bobbin thread counter for my sewing machine.

Works but....
This counter works well but it didn't last long at all; maybe 4 hours total usage time. You would think that in today's electronics an item would last a loooong time. But this one does not. I ordered another one so I can have something in the meantime while I find a better counter. EDIT: Just received another one thinking the one I had was just a bad one. The new one is no better! They say it is good for 100 Hz but I can only get it to operate reliably up to 16.6 Hz. Anything over 1000rpm it stops counting.
