I wouldn't use 12 gauge wire if you are under 50 and want it to last 30 or more years. 9 gauge is the way to go. Add T-posts and wire clips if you use 12 gauge. I space my 9 gauge posts every 20 feet, so 12 gauge i guess i would add T-post every 10 feet in between your cemented in 4x4's. The thicker wire saves you money if you are planning to have a lot of grape vines.

Is there a clip to attach my vertical grape vine to the horizontal wires (one wire is 2 feet from the ground and the other is 4 feet)?

I have used some ties from a local nursery. They are a green plastic tie that is gentle on the plants. Your grapes will quickly grab hold with tendrils.
