I am a proffessional illustrator and I love these simple little brass sharpeners. High quality that lasts forever with replaceable blades. Excellent for prismacolor colored pencils whose lead tends to break in electric sharpeners, these work fantastic. Fits easily in your pencil bags so no matter where you are you have a high quality sharpener. As a side note to bush crafters (believe it or not) these also make great gifts for the bushcrafter in your life as tiny portable tinder makers. Grab a few pine sticks great because if their resin content and you can makes peels upon peels of tinder for your fire starting needs. A little known trick that I can't believe more people don't know about.

I love these bullet sharpeners. They are great for wood graphite pencils and solid graphite pencils. For colored pencils I use Faber Castel Polychromos pencils and Caran d'ache Luminance pencils. This sharpener works great with these pencils. I recently tried Lyra poly color pencils too and it works well with those. As for pastel pencils I only use Faber Castel Pitt Pastel pencils or Caran d'ache pastel pencils. This sharpener works better on the Faber Castel than on the Caran. I've had more breakage with the caran, but when it works with the caran it works well. I have tried the sharpener with General's charcoal pencils and it is hit or miss - mostly because they are fragile and break within the wood when dropped. But I read (and have tried and it works) that if you leave your charcoal pencils in the hot sun for a couple of hours the binder melts and solidifies again when taken out of the sun. If you do this the sharpener works great. It doesn't seem to work well with carbon pencils and if you use Conte à Paris pencils they are too big for this sharpener. Based on my usage I think these are great sharpeners.

Third times a charm. This is the best little sharpener yet. I have a long point sharpener, but it kept breaking the leads. I thought I needed a long point sharpener, but I don't. This baby is awesome. It works great on colored pencils.

These brass Mobius sharpeners are all excellent, and stay sharp a long time, and it is even worth changing the blades. I have always used the usual rectangular ones until recently, but have started to have trouble with my hands. I find the bullet shaped sharpener fits closer into my palm and doesn't slip or dig in uncomfortably, and sharpens just as well as the others of this brand. You try things until you find what works, with arthritis: this little bullet shape is giving me back both function and comfort with my frequent colored pencil enjoyment. Recommended!

Every woodworker needs a sharp pencil. Like most, I use a utility knife to do a quick sharpening. I decided to look for a real pencil sharpener , but one with a little heft that I can easily find in a pouch or pocket. This filled the need and I don’t grab a pencil anymore without grabbing this sharpener too.

Mobius and Rupert is the only sharpener I will buy period! I use this for my colored pencils, graphite pencils, charcoal pencils and it sharpens to a nice point. It works well for all my needs, it's lightweight and the durability is unmatched! The value for the money is great and perfect size for taking your pencils with you!
