描述
- Our organically grown Trinitario cacao beans are the size of an almond with an easily cracked shell.
- Upon peeling off the thin shell, you find a dark chewable mass having a mild chocolate taste.
- Remove the thin stem filament in its center (it is edible, but bitter), and eat as is.
- Great on fresh fruit salad; add it to a smoothie, yogurt, or ice cream; or mix it into a guacamole.
- Crumble it over a fresh green salad, or shower it over a meal as you would parmesan cheese.
Cacao means "Theobroma" ("Food of the Gods") and originated in the Peruvian region where our cacao growers are located. Organic food proponents affirm that eating the cacao from 8 beans a day will act as an anti-aging agent due to its high content of antioxidants, helps to lower your bad cholesterol and raise the good one, energizes you, and is a natural source of magnesium and calcium (good for your bones and muscles).
