Bosch HA3JAW 1/2-Inch 3-Jaw Keyless Chuck with SDS-plus Shank
Initially I wasn't sure whether to get this or the SDS shank keyed chuck, I haven't had any problems with the HA3JAW. It's for boring large holes in wood, and for large drill bits that don't come in SDS shank. The price seems to fluctuate wildly. The rest of the review is a combined one..I purchased the RH328VC to drill holes in concrete walls, my garage/workshop walls are 8ft high concrete. This looks like it will do the job and be useful for drilling large holes in lumber as well. It's a quality tool, and comes with a decent case which I think is essential, and I don't believe in paying $50+ extra for one. It is heavy (8.25lbs) so I can't see myself using it on a ceiling.I also purchased a HA3JAW keyless chuck to use with large regular shank drill bits at thirty five, this adds another 0.75lbs. When latched into the SDS chuck it has about 1/2" of forward back movement. Apparently this IS normal for an SDS shank chuck or drill bit-"The drill bit is not held solidly in the chuck, but can slide back and forth like a piston. The hammer of the drill acts to accelerate only the drill bit itself, and not the large mass of the chuck, which makes hammer drilling with an SDS shank drill bit much more productive than with other types of shank". This probably means that the optional HA3JAW keyless chuck should only be used in drill mode, even if you have round shank masonry drill bits. The RH328VC case has storage for small parts, drills, etc and also a generous area for coiling up the power cable. The case appears to be an improved design -the one that came with my Bosch 3/8" drill is worn out -the "living" hinges and the latches are all broken on that (the drill still works fine though). This case has seperate hinges and latches. I'm not that familiar with SDS but originally it was named by Bosch 'The SDS bit was developed by Bosch in 1975 and the name comes from the German "Steck - Dreh - Sitz" (Insert - Twist - Stay)'.Both the RH328VC and the HA3JAW, are Made in Germany.

Saved me from a big mistake with my hammer drill
Best tool to use with a rotary hammer with SDS connection.

Quality
There are many false reviews for the product. This item works great. DO NOT USE ON IMPACT DRILL SETTINGS!! It will break. It is written on the package in small print. Contacted BOSCH and advised to print caution in larger print on the front of the package and more clear info in description.

Overall gives good functionality
This is probably the best quality SDS Plus keyless chuck on Amazon. That being said it does the job for me but I noticed some runnout at the end of my drill bit when I ran my cordless hammer drill. It has never effected my work because I wouldn't be doing precision work with a cordless drill anyway. Also, as noted in other reviews, when the chuck is in the drill, it has the ability to move about a quarter inch axially in either direction. This does not effect any or my drilling operations because you will always be pressing into the workpiece and so you really don't notice it when drilling.Pros:-overall quality-keyless design-decent priceCons:-the chuck has some runnout to it. not intended for precise applications.-it can oscilate back and forth in the hammer drill (probably not an issue to most people)

Bosch Hex Chuck Adapter is Very Cheaply Made!
Wow! Super cheap and cheaply made! We had to put this chuck in a bench vise in order to try to remove the hex shank since it does not come out easily even though they claim it comes right off! Instantly the Bosch Hex Chuck Adapter started to cave in on the sides and became all mis-shaped, no longer round, not even close, when under the slightest amount of pressure on the sides while being held in your average garage bench vise. Ridiculous! They definitely did not put much of anything into making this product. I feel it was just another way to get their name on another item, since they did not make it themselves. Bosch to me, was all about making quality products, or so it used to be. This product was clearly manufactured by another company for the soul purpose of making money and adding another item to Bosch inventory, and not to provide something useful and quality like I used to expect from a company like Bosch. Do not buy this! You're welcome!

High Quality SDS to Keyless Chuck
This is just what I needed to be able to use my smooth shank drill bits in my SDS Plus drill. This adapter is very handy to keep around the workshop. This tool is not easily found in local hardware and tool stores. Better to buy it here and have it on hand when you need it instead of going out to hunt it down when you need it.
