Great Product.I have had the Bernzomatic UL2317 Brass PencilFlame Propane Torch Head (UL2317 Torch) for 10+ Years, I definitely needed an upgrade.

Works great. I use it as an accessory while cooking. I have had not issues. I Do use name Brand gas.

I use this mostly for lighting fires in a wood stove and a wood burning fireplace insert. I feel it's safer not needing two hands to turn on the valve and light the torch, then move the torch around. It should also be safer in the unlikely event that the torch were dropped or knocked out of your hand. The fact that I can position the torch then let 'er rip is nice. This nozzle is a beast - the fire is going to light! It's a bit pricey by I like having the option of buying a quality product that I can trust.

I bought this based on the recommendation of my friend who uses it to start fires in his fireplace and I'm glad I did.I've had a wood stove for longer than I can remember well over 30 years probably closer to 40 and this is the best way to start a fire I've ever came up with. You ever get frustrated with something seemingly insignificant in life, that everyone else around you accepts, but for some reason you alone decide to tolerate it no more? I am not talking about yelling at the clouds, but something more personal. Something that maybe should not really matter in the overall scheme of things, but to you, in that moment, you declare NO MORE!Four years ago, my ass was officially chapped. I had purchased yet ANOTHER multi pack of grill/fireplace lighters, and within a month all four of them were no longer working. The quality of these damn things has gone to crap over the years, and even buying more expensive name brand models resulted in short life and/or some not working at all from Day 1.I was standing in front of the charcoal chimney on the Weber one faithful day, brand new lighter not working, and I was absolutely fuming. I went back inside in every drawer possible and could not come up with a functioning lighter. I am not saying my pants get tight in the front every time, but I have at least felt a nod of approval on occasion.To this date, every fire pit fire, every lump coal chimney, every gas grill lighting, and every fire in my fireplace has been started with that torch. Sure, its like shooting a squirrel with a 30-30, but that bastard sure died didn't he?It is a small victory as I wish a silent "F You" every time I see those $10-$20 packs of lighters in the grocery store. A small, personal victory, but one I have reveled in for four years now.
