I wish I had purchased this mat sooner! For years I've used area rugs beneath my office chair and was constantly struggling to move my heavy chair. I like that the mat is transparent, stays in place, and does a good job protecting my wood floor.

The quality of the mat is great! The material is thick with carpet spikes.

Very sturdy chair mat but please be aware: you need two people (as the instructions say) to “install” this mat. It is tightly wrapped and difficult to unwind, and the grippers make it impossible to handle without work gloves. You cannot do this alone. You also need weights to hold it down until it eventually flattens.

Great value for the money. Unrolling it is easy—run a hot bath and drop the rolled-up mat in the tub for 20 minutes. It will be a complete breeze to lay flat then. Then place books (textbooks if you still have some around) on the corners and throughout the mat.I do wish this was a little thicker as my carpet mat is quite plush, so this chair mat ends up with dents when I'm sitting in the chair while I work. It takes a little extra effort to roll out of the dents. Not a big problem, small inconvenience. I'd prefer a thicker mat, but I'm content with this one anyway.The mat re-flattens itself when I move the position of my chair, though.

This mat does not last on medium pile carpet, I had to replace the mat within 11 months. It ships rolled up and is fairly soft/rubbery feeling and takes it a day or so to actually lay 'flat'. When on carpet the wheels sort of feel like they are stuck in something and dont really roll as it indents and bends around the wheels of the chair. Obviously it does a great job at protecting the carpet and generally does look nice. Really it is not a bad option for the price and I am not saying I wont buy it again if a different option does not work better. If you are using the chair from time to time its definitely ok, but if its your daily office chair it will not last very long so just plan on replacing at least yearly.

I ordered this clear mat to put on our room's dark wooden floors. It needed to fit the opening of our desk but, be wide and long enough to roll the desk chair in and out without rolling out off the mat. We just got it today and it rolled out beautifully! Other mats required stickers to put on the corners, and "heavy things" once their mats get unrolled out of their boxes, so that their mats would stay in place. This one rolled right out of the box, and laid flat on the floor on its own! I love how the chair doesn't roll around UNLESS I want to move (which it does easily)- on the mat. I also loved the quality! I ordered this one over others first offered once I searched this type of mat, because I felt better about their claims to being non-toxic and other quality assurances since it's sold by an American based company. But, now, seeing how this mat unfolded hassle-free, seems odorless (at least to me), and lay flat quickly, as it was heavy enough to stay put on its own (without weights or stickers), I'm so glad to have chosen this product over the other "more popular ones" generated on the Amazon logarithm.TIP: make sure to CLEAN and dry up the floors the mat will go one before rolling it out. Pet hair was hard to remove from the "smooth" side that goes on the floor directly.WISH: an extra inch, would have been great since our chair is a larger than most.

Do not order, product is almost impossible to flatten and very hard for a chair roll on. This was rolled so tight that it about broke your fingers to just try and start to unroll . . . I have followed all instructions to flatten for two weeks corners and ends still roll. do not waste your time and then to return they want you to try and roll back up and box and there is no way this is gong into the box it came in, ever

I first got this for my bathroom. After stepping out of the shower the dripping water was ruining my floor. Instead of re-doing my floor I put one where I would step out. I liked the result so much that I bought 2 more to cover most of my bathroom floor. Since it's so clear you can barely see it. Now when I step out of the shower, I'm standing on a smooth surface with it being protected. I can walk over to my sink and shave, not worrying about dripping water along the way. Let it drip! Or worrying about any sharpened areas of my floor. I cut the last one down to size to fit around the radiator, which was easy with regular scissors. My entire bathroom floor is VERY protected. I bought another 2. My kitchen table is the exact dimension of this mat. The other I can cut up. My computer workstation is very worn ONLY where my hands are working. I can cut the piece I need, 28" by 15". No more wear on the workstation table. The rest of the workstation is in very good condition because it doesn't get the wear and tear as does where my hands and keyboard are wearing the surface down over the years. I can use a cut piece for where I place my plunger in the kitchen. Other pieces to line shelves in the pantry. You get the idea. I got this in the summer, so flattening it was super easy since it was warm. If you're getting this in the winter time put the box on top of a radiator, or next to a warm stove. Once this mat is warm it will flatten out easy. I'll probably buy more where I see the need. This can protect so many things. It's your mouse pad protector for places you don't have a mouse. Floors, carpets, shelves, whatever. It has a smooth side and a textured side. You'll most likely want the smooth side down to prevent slipping. This mat will save you much money by protecting your surfaces.
