The Fifty-Five is the first saddle using our exclusive JOF or 'Just Off Front' geometry by John Cobb. This saddle was specifically designed to address certain needs within the Tri and road market Our continuing saddle research, using pressure mapping systems that show the critical contact pressure points for both men and women, have led us to recognize the need for a new and different saddle design allowing us to serve all types of riders with our full-line of saddles. Our traditional saddle designs generally provide great airflow and pressure control but occasionally there is a need for a more unobtrusive area for the front end of the saddles. As the line of saddles name implies, your soft tissue or genitals are 'Just Off the Front' when riding this saddle properly. The JOF line will be made up of short-nosed saddles, which can help with cooling and numbness The sides of the new Fifty-Five saddle are specifically shaped to not interfere with upper hamstrings and to allow for multiple riding positions. No More Discomfort and Numbness
I never realized just how uncomfortable I was on my bike until I installed this seat (my fourth in search of some relief). I can now do my routine weekend rides of 30-50 miles without the discomfort and numbness I thought was just part of riding. There are decent bike setup instructions with seat + videos on website and also YouTube (search Cobb Cycling). Using instructions/videos I was able to get myself fitted without going to LBS. I am 6' 195 lbs. and I ride predominantly in Aero position but find seat works well no matter how I am riding. I was a little worried when I received seat that it was going to be a little too wide and too hard but those two concerns are complete non-issues. I can also move around on the seat a bit (more than one good riding position) which is nice and my junk hangs off the front exactly as advertised.
