I got the Ford AA8Z‑9942528‑A nameplate for my tailgate and overall I’m really happy with it. It matches the original factory badge perfectly—same size (9 x 3.5 in), good dark blue color, and proper mounting points. It really brings back that clean, authentic look. 2006 Ford Ranger looks new again
Both front and rear Ford emblems were totally faded. Ordered 2 and looked on YouTube on how to remove them and put the new ones on. It was so easy anyone can do it. My truck still has the original paint and it’s always been garage kept so the paint still looks great. Replacing both makes the truck look even better. Really glad I replaced them both.

So far so good. Easy removal of old emblem, installed this one in a couple minutes. My 2011 F150 takes the 3 peg. Pegs are small so they don’t really hold it in place, but the adhesive on back is pretty strong. I sanded off the old adhesive, cleaned area with alcohol before application.

Avoid the aluminum emblem
Just wanted to share the information I could not find when trying to replace this emblem the first time. (this is my second replacement.) There are TWO different versions of this emblem: A black plastic buck with an aluminum shell with blue paint in the recesses, and a two-piece of chrome plated plastic and blue plastic that fit together to form the logo. The all-plastic version is actually the superior version. The aluminum version sheds it's paint and polish within a few years and looks like crap. I don't think there is a different part number or anything. My truck came with the aluminum shell, was replaced with the same, and both failed after five years. If you order this and get the aluminum version, return it and demand the better one or a refund.
