A solid budget euro key cylinder choice
I am happy with this cylinder. After a home purchase we had a deck double door with this style lock, and the owners left no key. The old lock was a CES brand from Germany. Changing the lock was moderate effort, requiring a P2 philips, allen set, and a small pick or heavy paper clip. Removal of the old CES lock required pushing a small release pin under the removed thumbturn, which was not obvious. After easily sliding out the lock, this new replacement one was pushed in. The Prime Line works well. Dimensions provided for outer sizes were very accurate. While the thumbturn is brushed and not polished, it is passable satin finish. The description, fit, and measurements supplied were almost perfect. Our lock screw was a little shimmy to get in but is not drilled entirley straight either, so the lineup issue is on our end probably. I reused the old screw that had a bit of wear on it, instead of the tighter more intolerant new one. Be aware, in addition to the mild difficulty lining up and turning the new mount screw, there some other things that deserve note. First is the lack of rotational deadstops. The older premium lock was not able to be turned around a full circle, by design. You can see this in the picture. This is why slide out removal was impossible, and this was a security feature. But the Primeline toggle DOES spin all the way around freely. Meaning, when locking and unlocking, you may have to do nearly a full rotation around the lock to get it to engage the deadbolt. This is not a big issue. It takes two turns instead of one, to throw the bolt. The engagement is satisfying, and you know the lock is set from the feel of it. I do not believe that a thief would take the time to spin the toggle with a pick in any case, and dont think they could because the cylinder jacket is tight anyway (see below). Last, the toggle is not built to as quite as high a machining tolerance as the stock CES. There is a tiny bit of clearance and play on the feel of it. You can sense there is a half mm of slop in the spin. You can feel this machining on the edges of the slightly small tumbturn as well. No edges are canted or beveled. The lock cylinder itself and the key provided are both tight though. See the picture. Overall this is a really good budget product. It performs the function properly. FOr 20 instead of 100, you can get it done. The price and operation are excellent, the fit and finish are average, and the engineering tolerances good where it matter. If you dont mind spinning the tumbturn two half-turns instead of one, and can see using this long enough for the finish to shine up a bit, it is a really fine choice and a decent product. Best of luck changing out your lock.

good to use
This latch worked great on a 30-year-old metal frame security door.

Fits old Larson/Emco full glass storm doors!
Our storm door couldn't be re-keyed, so I wanted a replacement handle set- which was too expensive. I had a hard time finding something that would be compatible with my old Larson/Emco storm door, but this actually fit! Make sure to measure the size of the lock (length and width) to make sure it works for you. Super easy to install - the only screw I needed to remove was the one right below the locking knob on the inside of the door. Save yourself a ton of money by ordering this part :)

Oversized thumb turn interferes with second door
This lock works well and is well made. The only problem I had was that the thumb turn interfered with the knob on our other door. If both doors are closed, this lock can not be opened from the outside because the thumbturn is blocked from turning by the other door's knob. I purchased a shorter lock from a different manufacturer. This one just isn't going to work. The large thumbturn is nice and makes it easy to open and close the lock from the inside, but it's just too big for my application.

Works great for Therma tru multipoint lock system - thumb turn key
My 15yr old therma tru fiberglass door key cylinder became difficult to turn with key. Sprayed WD-40 into key hole but didn’t help. Online video from therma tru showed how to remove thumb turn and key cylinder from door, but they don’t sell the parts online. Instead they encourage you to contact the local authorized installer. Therma tru’s multipoint lock system key cylinder length is 2-1/2” whereas prime line K5062 is 2-3/8”. Also thumb turn comes off from therma tru’s original cylinder but K5062 comes attached together (found out later thumb turn of K5062 can also be separated with allen wrench). Despite these differences, I took a chance on K5062 which cost only $18.70 including tax and shipping, item arrived next day. Therma tru online store require 14 biz days to process your order, moreover they don’t even carry this simple replacement parts, and they seem to want you to schedule an appointment with their installer. It’s very important not to discard your old screw that held the cylinder onto your door, as the one that comes with K5062 is too short. $18.70 and 3 minutes of my time is all it took. Saved few hundred dollars, weeks, and the hassle of calling up an installer who might talk you into replacing the entire door or the entire multiple lock system. Philipps screwdriver (plus), paper clip, 3/32 allen wrench are the tools I needed to remove the original thumb turn and cylinder from my therma tru fiberglass multi locking system door. Phillips screwdriver (plus) is the only tool I needed to install K5062. Fits and works perfect, and am very happy. Spreading the news to therma tru multipoint locking system door owners.
