The Widow Maker Compendium: Extreme Self-Defense for Deadly Force Situations (Books 1-3) (Widow Maker Program Series) Paperback – August 25, 2015

I have been a fan and follower of Sammy Franco's self defense and heavy bag training series for over a year now. I have found his books to be some of the most well-written and easy to follow guides to both fitness and personal defense. I was thrilled to see that Franco has released his Widow Maker series as a set, or compendium, and quickly snapped it up. For anyone new to these guides, this is definitely the way to go. You get everything in one book and it's much cheaper than purchasing the books separately. These have changed the way I look at self-defense and have definitely changed the way others look at me. Recommended.

THE WIDOW MAKER COMPENDIUMI have always been a fan of Sammy Franco’s Contemporary Fighting Arts material. The widow maker series in my opinion has the edge above the rest. Most books talk about awareness or when the assailant or assailants are in front of you aggressively where you are taught to use thede-escalation stance what we call in the UK The Fence (used as a platform to launch your next form of defence). Sammy Franco goes one step more in the widow maker compendium, when the attacker comes straight at you with full blown aggression and there is no interview period.Find out for yourself how Mr Franco deals with this potentially Frightening experience in these books.

ALOT OF REPEAT AND TOO MUCH OF BOB THE DUMMY

I'm still working my way through the first volume of this set, so that's why I only gave it four stars. So far, I've enjoyed the amount of technical information provided and the simplicity of the techniques that get the job done. I teach karate on the weekends, realize that my club doesn't discuss razing type techniques (attacks to the head/face) and try to incorporate them into our practice. I'm looking forward to the other volumes and hope to purchase other books that Mr. Franco has authored.

Excellent book. Truly fantastic and filled with some much useful information written in a very easy to understand format. I highly recommend this book to everyone!!!

Did not really get the concept of fist drill.Did pick up some good points that made sense to me.Would like video drills because some times I read the info but have a hard time visualizing it.

Poor quality binding...BEWARE! Content is not in question - 4 STAR, but quality of production is terrible 1 STAR. Pages falling out throughout the entire book. Quality control lacking with this printer.

This book is very good at explaining how to "crash in" a very good bridging technique that can be used with any art form. The pictures could be a little darker in print but the information given is very detailed and informative. The Widow Maker could be the only real technique you need to get from Long Range to CQC Range with minimal damage to yourself. Great work Mr. Franco.
