I bought this bc I was tired of turning into a contortionist every time I applied self tanner to my back! I wasn't aware at the time that they actually make self tanner applicators for your back, so I thought I was really smart when ordering this! So, is it great for applying self tanner? No. For lotion? Yes. This does exactly what it's meant to do. The stick is a good length and easy to hold on to. It comes with several "pads" that attach to the end very easily and I can't imagine that you could go through all of them in a lifetime! They are good quality and apply lotion comfortably. They're pretty firm and don't really absorb much product. So if you don't have someone to apply lotion to your back, yes, this will do the job.

I moisturize with Eucerin. Easy to apply moisturizer to applicator. Applicator easily reaches all areas that I wish it to reach. There is one con and the reason for my three star rating. The applicator WILL NOT stay on the wooden handle. I applied a good amount of mounting putty to the handle which does keep the applicator from sliding off. I can still easily get the applicator off to clean it.

I have been receiving radiation for breast cancer and my back has become extremely dry and chapped. I am not able to reach all of the spots to use the oncologist-recommended moisturizer. So I tried this applicator. The pads of the applicator are firm but gentle on the skin and the applicator stick is sturdy. The pads also fit well on the stick so they do not fall off or move around. I also find the applicator stick the right length for what I need. Horizontally I can reach across my back and vertically I can reach low enough to apply the cream without having to bend my arm uncomfortably upward to avoid having the cream go below the lower back. I would definitely recommend and will use this even when radiation is concluded. .

I am a widower and no longer have another person to help put lotion and skin cream on my back. Hard to do by yourself. This product saves the day. My back has dry skin in the winter and it itches. It needs moisturizing. I bought this device to use as a third hand to go where I can't. I use it to apply skin lotion, ointments and even eczema cream and ointments. Makes a difficult task an easy one person task. Comes extra applicator heads and a handy hang-up hook. I love it. Buy one. Sooner or later you will need it. Price is great, delivery is quick to your door. The seller emailed me to see if all was well and offered to help me if needed. But..... it is simple to use and there is nothing to dislike about it.

Works great to put lotion on your back. The lotion doesn't soak into the sponge so it all goes on your skin with no waste. Cleans easily with soap & water. Very sturdy.

It started with a good premise -- how to moisturize your back after showering. But the product failed as soon as I tried it the first time. In particular -- the Pad is nothing more than a oval Styrofoam with smooth sides to apply the body cream. There is a hole drilled into one end for the stick to be inserted into. I can't tell if the hole was drilled too large, but the pad keeps flying off when applying pressure to your back with an up and down (or side to side) motion. This exercise usually results in the pad landing somewhere in bathroom behind you. This gets rather tiring quickly. Somehow the hole needs to be smaller than the handle width. In other words, the pad needs to be held on the handle tightly. I have to be rather gentle when rubbing it on back or it will fly off. A disappointment.

Not easy for rubbing lotion in-spreads it ok.

The product looks good, but the head does not detach from the handle. I wrote to the Amazon supplier, but what they advised did not work. Therefore, I can only use one of the heads supplied. Further, there are no instructions relating to cleaning the head.
