Ghost Team One

A word on sensitivity: If you are a recovering alcoholic or of Vietnamese descent and are touched off by stereotypical joking you probably won't like this movie. I did cringe at times.I really do not like Dude Bro movies. On the surface this is one but underneath there is a bit more complex writing. Also, there was one element that changed this movie; and that element's name is Chuck.The movie begins with the hyperheterosexual Brad and his much put upon but not to the point of being nebbish aspiring film maker friend and roommate Sergio throwing a party at their LA home (not apartment it has a yard an everything makes me think of the aspiring actors' group home in Hobgoblins). Sergio has an encounter which inspires him to become a ghost hunter in his own home and to document it with his room mate.Those movies typically devolve into a sexual tension based conflict arc with betrayals and recriminations with the ghost encounter becoming secondary until someone dies shifting the focus to a horror survival movie. This movie does not do that. It has the sexual tension and the horror survival but all throughout the movie is the background story that builds during the first half that underscores that this is a spoof. A spoof of LA aspiring film maker's life (or maybe it is just documenting this and I only think it is a spoof because the reality is so absurd), dude bro roomates' lives and ghost hauntings.What makes this movie different is the arc of Chuck the frustrated narc/alcoholic room mate who is at his wits end staying sober living with two party animals. Chuck, Fernanda and the unseen Billy add a lot of fun and humor to the movie that isn't part of the usual ghost chasers film. Further the movie left a few loose strings and with the exception of one (which is admittedly pretty significant) they covered them during the epilogue showing that they are at least not too sloppy in terms of writing.I liked watching it even when wincing over the Silence of the Lambs moment and the tongue in cheek racism; and do plan to watch it again some time.

It's a spoof in the tradition of This Is The End. I presume it's very low budget, because it looks like it was very low budget. The storyline is straightforward with no twists or turns or anything particularly innovative, but it isn't afraid to be ridiculous.The only reason I rated it as high as I did is because the two main actors are really entertaining, and surprisingly good actors. I actually found myself laughing out loud during the first half of the movie, just watching these two idiots interact with the world around them. I don't know if it was well written dialogue or if a lot of that was ad-lib, but it was entertaining as hell either way.Once the movie got to the big resolution scene(s) it got annoying and I was looking forward to getting through it to see if they did anything interesting at the end. Turns out they did surprise me just a little bit with how the relationship between the two main guys and everyone else ended up, but otherwise it was just a little bit of extra silly and they wrapped it up.All in all it's well done. 4 stars is maybe a bit rich, but I was actually entertained so I figured what the hell.

The 2 mexican actors did very good acting with the oversexed one doing over the top raunchy and the white guy played a awesome psychotic possessed character. the script writer keeps the comedy and raunchiness in your face. So if you are into this lewd comedy/horror type of movie you should have a ball watching this.LOL as for me this show was too raunchy for my taste so that is why i gave it only a 3 Star but i am sure other folks would give this well made and well acted movie a 4 star at least. LOL some of the comedy parts were very funny.

Just awful watch.Not only is this mostly boring, there is hardly a movie here.Following characters dealing with happenstance is very hard to do, and this leans on the "two guys fighting over a hot chick that won't get with them" trope way too much.There just wasn't anything in this for me to enjoy.

I rarely laugh at films, but this one had me laughing out loud a lot. Two doofuses and two beautiful women team up to video record a ghost haunting their house. The humor is very juvenile, and the film is not for the easily offended. The story takes a few unexpected turns, however, and the ending was unpredictable. Tony Cavalero is the surprise star of the show.

I have to give this 5 stars just because my husband and I had such a great time watching it. It's not the perfect movie and not for those who just love horror and may not appreciate the raunchy jokes.If you're a fan of the Paranormal Activity movies, this is the best spoof I have ever seen! The characters are funny and engaging, the comedy is as I said, extremely adult and a bit sexual in nature, but hilarious! And my husband and I actually jumped once or twice at the scares. Yeah, we didn't believe it would happen either.I'm afraid to write any more about this movie. I would hate to give away any of the jokes or the plot. Definitely check out the official trailer if you're interested and then give it a rental at the very least! I think it's worth owning just because you'll probably want to share this one with your friends!

Not the best movie.. but then again, I'm not their target audience. This sex comedy is geared more toward teenagers and young college students. If you're in that category, this would probably be a good movie for you. Otherwise, its a pass.

I enjoyed this movie. It cracked me up the whole time. Great distraction from real life. If you are expecting a oscar worthy movie..... quit it, watch the trailer and make up your own mind. It is what it is and I had a good time watching it.

salve il film è veramente molto brutto, non spendeteci assolutamente i soldi. volgare fino allo stremo e mai divertente questo dvd non va bene neanche per fare da zeppa al tavolo passate oltre!!!
