Scientific Anglers Frequency Trout Floating Fly Line

Best WF fly line for the price. This is my 3rd line and will continue to purchase SA line whenever my line runs out.

I like the leader it casts very well and is smooth. I do not see a lot of memory which is nice. It does not have a welded loop on the backing side of the line. I looked at the description and it does not show having a welded loop there. I tied the fly line to the backing and it works well. I was just surprised it did not have a loop. I do like the fly line and its action.

I like this line for a lot of reasons, it floats high and is very slick so I can shoot a lot of line with little effort. The only thing I don’t like and I can’t quite explain it is that when I strip out a lot of line and it’s sitting there coiled up it seems like it tangles more than the Cortland line I had before. It’s not a severe problem and it might be that because it casts so well I just have more line stripped off to get tangled. If you’re looking for a long casting line though this one’s a rocket!!

This purchase was made for a floating line. It looks like the post now says its for a tapered leader. This review is for the WF5F: The floating line is amazing. I love the texture of the line, as well as it's durability. I've been fishing with the same line for 2 season (yikes! i know, that's a long time, but the tip has not been sinking and it still performs well.) I fish A LOT with this line too. I purchased another one because, i like this one so much. The color is not obnoxiously bright (which i tell myself the fish notice), it is a drab color that i feel is less noticeable to the fish, but still I can find and track where everything is easily. I'd purchase this color and line for all of my 5wt general applications. The cost of the line is perfect too.

Great line . I'm a beginner of fly fishing . Bought a cheap fly combo and was learning to fly fish . Struggles a lot with line which came with that combo . So , bought another line : Rio , tried : same thing , not much improvement , return it and got refund , finally decided to try this line (my last attempt) . Damn ! I've got a lots of improvement on my casting , it's helps me cast much further , like 20-30% more ! I love this line , hardly recommend for beginners like my self , can't say for experienced anglers .
