The writing flows really well and is easy to get into, making it perfect for reading by the pool or at the end of the day. I loved the slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance , it felt natural and well developed rather than rushed. The banter between the characters was genuinely funny and kept me smiling throughout, and the female main character was strong, confident, and easy to root for. Overall, it’s a light but well-written romance that’s entertaining, charming, and hard to put down. Review: Heartfelt Summer Romance - People We Meet on Vacation is such a delightful read! It follows Poppy and Alex, two best friends with totally opposite personalities who have a tradition of vacationing together every summer. The story jumps between their past trips and the present as they try to reconnect after a year apart. Emily Henry’s writing is witty, heartfelt, and full of charm. The characters feel real—flawed but lovable—and their chemistry is electric. The book beautifully explores friendship, love, and figuring out what you really want in life. If you love slow-burn romances with humor, emotional depth, and beautiful settings, this one’s a must-read!

Read it!
I whole heartedly loved this book! It is a friends to lovers, opposite attracts, jet setting adventurous book that leaves you with a big smile on your face, and with that good feeling in your heart. Poppy is so quirky and so easily to love. She feels like your best friend, and the one who has that addicting personality that you love being around. And Alex is the reserved cutie who is the complete opposite. He’s a good guy, who tries to go with the flow, but completes Poppy in the best way. And when he falls, he falls quietly and hard. Poppy was always going to be the one. It just took them 12 years to figure it out. I loved how this book goes back and forth between their past summer trips and what’s going on in the present. There are definitely some laugh out loud moments, and some that tear at your heart strings. You won’t want to put this down! This was a re-read for me, and I listened to the audiobook this second time. If you have the option, I personally liked the audiobook better. The narrator channels Poppy’s personality perfectly and just made the book so much better the second time around!

3.5 ⭐️
I wanted to love this book like how I love her others ones. But I just wish sometimes that Poppy had more confidence and courage, and I hated how it kind of drags out the reason why they don't talk and then when you find out you're just sitting their like uhm okay? It was an okay read but I expected more maybe cause the hype. But definitely a growth in the characters and coming of age story. Can't wait to see how the movie is now! I still love ya Emily but this just wasn't clicking.

Friends to lovers
I first read this book three years ago, and it was my first Emily Henry book. I enjoyed this one so I wanted to reread it prior to watching the Netflix movie, and decided to do the audio this time. I love the alternating timelines where you get to see Poppy and Alex meet, and what led to them not speaking and then the current timeline where they reconnect. Just like the first time, the characters did annoy me a bit at times. Like hello!! You’re in love with each other — just be together! This is very much a slow burn where you’re waiting most of the book for them to get together. And part of the end was a little frustrating, but I enjoyed this for what it was — a light, summer read with the friends to lovers trope. Narrated by Julia Whelan who, as always, does a great job with audio. I always enjoy her as a narrator and the variety of emotions she conveys throughout the story. Read if you enjoy: ✔️Friends to lovers ✔️Alternating timelines ✔️Opposites attract ✔️Slow burn ✔️Second chance/reunion

Love this book!
I absolutely adored this book—it was pure fun from start to finish. The chemistry between Alex and Poppy was incredible, and it easily ranks as one of my all-time favorites by this author. It’s a sweet, lighthearted rom-com with just the right amount of romance (not too spicy), and I loved both main characters. Poppy is hilarious and relatable, Alex is completely swoon-worthy, and the story is told mostly from Poppy’s point of view, which made it even more engaging. I am head over heels for Alex Nielsen. I couldn’t put this book down, and I was genuinely sad when it ended. The banter was fantastic, their connection felt so real, and I even found myself tearing up at the end. Poppy and Alex are perfect on their own—and absolutely magical together. I’m officially obsessed.

Extremely well written, fully fleshed out deep characters, exciting suspenseful plotting. In the end it felt a bit cliche, though. The main characters' lack of self-confidence was also a bit eye roll inducing.

A perfect summer vacation read. Literally hurt my chest to put it down without reaching the end.

I reread this after a long time because a series is coming out and I wanted to refresh my memory. This was the first book by Henry that I ever read, and the one that convinced me to follow her in all her future publications. I love her writing style, the way she builds her stories, and her characters. She never disappoints!
