Poor quality - broke one day one.
Broke on day one with gentle use. Luckily someone who knew RC boats fixed it but I don't expect this will last very long.

This only charges with a car charger? Why is that?
Bought this for my nephew' for his birthday and he absolutely loves it. This boat is quite fast and maneuvers very easily with the remote. It seems of decent quality and is easy to use. My 13 year old nephew had no problem with it and he had it going in about 5 minutes out of the box (after charging). I honestly couldn't believe how fast this thing goes. It was fun to watch and it performs very nicely. We only used it in the swimming pool, though I'm sure it would be even better out on the pond or lake. The only negative that I found was that the battery charger only charges on a car outlet, not a regular wall outlet. My nephew had to put it in the car to charge it using the lighter outlet. I thought this was odd. Because of that I'm rating this 4 stars instead of 5.

Easy to modify.
This is a great boat! I was able to switch out the 270 motors for 390 brushed motors. The esc/rd handled it well. I used the optional dtx 7.2 volt 1600 mah battery. The wildcat has much better take off and top end now. I tape top with waterproof tape and have a lot of fun.

Broke first time out
shipping was fast and in time for my sons birthday next day. He put in the water and it wouldnt steer either way to get it back to him and he had to walk out into the lake to get the boat out...realized the steering part on back of boat was cracked into two..

Horrible Q.C.
Very disappointed horrible Q.C. boat arrived with a broken ESC power plug and one of the motors screws were loose cracked radio antenna mount.

one motor didn't work
Contacted supplier: said I needed to contact the manufacturer (hobbyco). I waited 30 minutes on the phone before I was put with a tech rep. He worked with me and I got the motor working, so I thought the problem was resolved. However, about 5 minutes later, it stopped. Luckily, I now had an email link and was able to recontact him. He sent a new motor. However, it took me over 5 hours to put the new motor in. End result; it now works fine. Next time I will insist in a new boat, not replace a part by myself

I've had a few toy boats and this one is far and away the best. Rudder steering is the only way to go.
