Stanley ACP0050-632 Classic Universal Stopper A

I was worried that after I lost my original stopper, I wouldn't be able to find a replacement. Alas, amazon.com saved the day again. While I must admit that some of these reviews weren't entirely promising, I decided to spend the six dollars after all (without the stopper, my thermos leaked constantly!). After receiving it in Stanley packaging, I rinsed off the stopper, screwed it on my thermos, turned the half-full thermos upside down (over a sink), and furiously shook the thermos for about ten seconds. Nothing spilled - the gasket is a perfect fit, the stopper screws directly into my thermos, and this replacement stopper makes it feel like I never lost my original one to begin with!

This stopper does have the pour thru ability simply by unscrewing one full turn. This picture does not show the sides of it, which have a channel that allows fluid to come out without taking the entire stopper off. If your seal is worn out it may leak and certainly not insulate as well as it should. Buying a stopper separately is not available at most stores anymore. I love my thermos and put coffee in it immediately to seal in the flavor and keep it hot for hours. If you leave coffee on the burner in your coffeemaker, not only do you waste electricity, you oxidize and burn coffee that makes it unsuitable for drinking. If you have a Stanley and have had a difficulty cleaning the inside of the thermos, I have an excellent suggestion on cleaning it. Add a quarter cup of baking soda, a little dish soap, and some copper BBs. You heard me right BB's. Boil water and carefully add it with the thermos in the sink (it will want to overflow quickly so be careful). Carefully add more water, but leave enough room in the thermos for empty space later when you shake it.. Let it sit at least an hour and put the stopper on. Start shaking and allowing the BB's to act like a rock polisher and scour the inside of the thermos til it is shiny like new. You may have to repeat this process if it has been several years since it was cleaned. A Tablespoon of BB should be enough to gently clean the inside of your thermos. You wont believe the nasty stuff that will come out when you pour out the stuff inside. Make sure you use a strainer with small holes to capture the BB's. You don't want them going down your drain! I rinse them off in the screen strainer and use them again for later. Hope this helps. Tasty coffee awaits your patience in using a clean thermos again. You won't regret it!

my bf needed a replacement because his two crazy black labs love coffee and chewed his last one lol so i got him it wasnt sure at first bt it fit great and worked great and he loved it he missed his stanly thermos it does not leak and after a month or so its still working perfect!! recommend this to anyone this happens too dont buy a new thermos just get a knew stopper... so much cheaper and then he dont gotta part with his fav thermos.

I purchased this to replace the original stopper on my 1.1 quart Stanley thermos (model # 10-01246-001) and the truth is that it works great, perhaps better than the original. I use the thermos just to keep coffee, and at times, even ten hours later the coffee is still piping hot . With the old stopper I would have to drink it all before five or six hours went by and even then it would only be warm. So if you're looking for an inexpensive stopper to replace the original stopper model # RS47, try this one, you won’t regret it. Again, it replaces the stopper for the Stanley 1.1 quart Overtime Vacuum Bottle.

i have no problem with this stopper except it came with a black plastic o-ring for the bottom instead of a white plastic one. threw me off a bit. Besides that, let me mouth off a bit here....why is there no blue color stopper for my stanley blue bottle!?!?!?

I was so happy to find this replacement stopper here at Amazon. My husband has had the tall Stanley thermos for many years, uses it daily at work, and it's still in great condition. But the rubber seal on the stopper had turned black over time, so gradual that I didn't even notice it or remember that it once was white. But recently it started leaving a black ring on the counter even after washing, and very soon after that the seal, which had not only turned black but hardened with age, broke. This new stopper is exactly the right fit and the seal is soft and pliable.

After years of my husband using his thermos the stopper lid started to leak and since the thermos still had lots of use in it we wanted to see if we could just replace the stopper. We ordered this one and since it's arrival the thermos has not leaked at all. It was good choice.

This stopper is not quite the same as the original. When first screwing it in with the thermos (pre-heated with hot water) filled with hot coffee, it's not possible at first to get the stopper seated/level. The thread configuration must be slightly different. After the stopper warms up, it works just fine, so I'm happy to have a replacement even if it's balky.
