Only the Caterpillars.
I do this every year with my second graders and they absolutely love it! It’s such a fun way to watch the change happen. This pack is just the caterpillars and their food, so make sure you already have the butterfly habitat. They come healthy and ready to go, and the kids get so excited to watch them grow and turn into butterflies. It's always one of our favorite parts of the year!

Beautiful Painted Lady Butterflies
I’ve been raising butterflies for past 5 years. Absolutely love it. Started out as something fun for grandchildren. Enjoyed it so much it’s become a family affair. We have a release day and now the whole family takes part in it. It’s a wonderful way to experience this with children. They get to watch them grow and change then come out of the cocoons. The joy we get is remarkable. Wonderful memories with grandchildren. I’ve had great success. Last year was the most I’ve raised. I think it was 38. Only two didn’t make it.

Butterflies 🦋
This journey has been so fun to watch and explore, my kids absolutely enjoyed every second of watching the life cycle of a caterpillar. 🐛We have 3 butterflies currently (As I'm writing this another one hatched so now we have 4.) but we are hoping for all of them to have made it. We did lose the log you were suppose to set the chrysalis' in so l hand made a solution to that 😂 I cut open a hefty cup and put tape around the opening so it's a smooth edge and the butterflies won't hurt their wings, Then I placed the paper the chrysalis' are attached to on top and taped the paper onto the cup. The final step was putting something heavy on the bottom of the cup so it wouldn't tip over when the butterflies come out. So I placed a rock that my son had and a shell that we found at the beach in them. And now we shall wait for more to hatch We will wait for their wings to dry and to make sure they are eating before releasing them into the wild for them to live happily ever after! Thank you for everyone that has been keeping up with our butterfly journey! We will keep updating as time goes on! Also we had a caterpillar that was significantly smaller than the rest when we first got them. He’s still alive but growing a lot slower than the rest. He’s still in the cup with food and I’m going to try everything I can to help him get to become a butterfly 🦋

Awesome experience Great Product
Service for this product was great. Pkg arrived on time, all catapillars were alive, but still. In a few hours I saw catapillar activity. Soon they formed thier chrysylus. The company sent 3 extra, and everyone survived In the past two days 11 hatched, 1 more today, , and 1 in the process of hatching. I highly reccomend this product and company. It is such fun to observe the growth and hatching process.

The Fascinating World of Caterpillars
Caterpillars, those small and seemingly insignificant creatures, have an enchanting world hidden beneath their tiny, wriggling bodies. My recent experience observing caterpillars has left me in awe of nature's extraordinary transformations.**Pros**:1. **Metamorphosis**: The life cycle of a caterpillar, culminating in its transformation into a butterfly or moth, is nothing short of miraculous. Watching this metamorphosis unfold is a captivating journey that brings a sense of wonder to both children and adults.2. **Biodiversity**: The diversity among caterpillar species is astonishing. From striking colors to intricate patterns, caterpillars come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, making them a joy to discover in nature.3. **Educational**: Observing caterpillars is an excellent way to introduce kids to the concepts of life cycles, biology, and ecology. It provides an opportunity for hands-on learning and instills an appreciation for the natural world.**Cons**:1. **Short Lifespan**: Caterpillars have relatively short lifespans in their larval stage. This might be disappointing for those who become attached to their little companions, but it's an integral part of their life cycle. In conclusion, caterpillars are nature's enchanting storytellers, weaving tales of transformation and resilience. These humble creatures have the power to instill awe, curiosity, and respect for the natural world. My experience with caterpillars has been nothing short of magical, and I encourage everyone to take a moment to observe these remarkable beings in their journey of life.

Healthy 100% Survival
These arrived 2 weeks ago and today the last caterpillar is forming a chrysalis. I bought 10 and received 12. They all arrived healthy and have survived. 2 of them fell off the lid. I transferred the paper tops to the final enclosure today and hung the fallen ones using some yarn. This is an experiment since I’m using a terrarium but I have a screen top I’ll be swapping out periodically to control humidity and air flow. I’ll post an edit when they emerge.EDIT: They all emerged with the exception of 1 who had a wing formed “inside out” they all appear healthy. They’re absolutely beautiful!!! I’ve since released them all outside.

Great experience
This turned out to be a great experience for our kids to see the caterpillars' transformation into beautiful butterflies. I have to say I was a bit dismayed when we first receive the kit. It came in a small box that must have gotten crushed in transportation. The cardboard box was half open and distorted .The plastic cup inside was also crushed to the point where it was impossible to put the lid on without it popping out. The paper on top of the cup was also torn. I ended up replacing the paper with a coffee filter and rubber banding the lid to the cup. Despite the ordeal from the bad transportation/packaging, our caterpillars survived and all six of them formed chrysalises. Even though one of the butterflies died inside its chrysalis, the other five came out beautifully. Overall pretty satisfied with how it turned out.
