Great Option For Shabbat Observers I purchased this warming tray to help keep my meals warm during the Shabbat and special holiday periods when I am limited in the way that I can utilize many of the standard appliances in my kitchen. I researched quite a few different manufacturers and their models of electric warming trays, before I selected the MegaChef. I chose this warming tray mainly because of the straightforward temperature settings, the safety features that prevent overheating, and the overall size of the unit (which can accommodate several dishes/pots at one time). Out of the box, you can tell this warming tray is very sleek and modern in design, but this unit is also solidly constructed overall. Moreover, I love how the silver and black design perfectly meshes with the stainless steel layout of my kitchen. In terms of functionality, the unit heats up pretty quickly and it does an excellent job of properly distributing heat throughout the surface area. Lastly, I operated this warming tray exclusively on the stone/marble counter-top in my kitchen. Depending on your preferred temperature settings, this tray can become exceptionally hot, so I personally never felt comfortable using it on any wood or plastic surfaces, especially if you intend to leave the tray unattended. Just food for thought. All and all, I am extremely happy with this warming tray, and I would candidly recommend it to others.

These warming trays were great and kept our food warm for our party.

It works perfectly! The food quickly heated up without mess or melting anything. The entire top does get hot so beware when grabbing it to adjust. Used it for a baby shower and it warmed up a large aluminum foil pan of mac and cheese in 20 mins. Perfect for gatherings and early set up. Easy to put away.

I use this item to heat food for Shabbat. Placed on my stove, it covers two elements (lengthwise). The first time we used it, the temperature setting was at maximum. It kept our soup very hot, and no food burned, for which we were very pleased; that was one of our goals. Note that at this setting, the hotplate should not be touched due to burn risks. There is a light that turns on and then when up to heat, turns off; the next week, to continue testing, we set it so that the light turned on just above the minimum setting - turns out it stays cold at that setting :). At this point, I would say to keep it at least at the midpoint level if not near/at maximum. I believe this purchase is a success! There is an option to extended the automatic 90 day warranty to 1 year, which is really nice also.
