Teslong Pistol Borescope is great for rifles also!!
This is my 2nd Teslong Borescope. I had purchased a the flexible cable rifle version in July 2019. I just received the pistol version in Sept 2020 and I'm very happy with my purchase. I'm a competitive shooter in PRS discipline and shoot a lot of centerfire and rimfire. One important area to check when cleaning a rifle barrel is the throat, specifically looking for a carbon ring that will form. If the carbon ring is not removed it can cause accuracy and over pressure issues. You can't see a carbon ring without a good borescope. I now use the pistol version with the 10 inch rod. It is perfect for pistols, although I bought it specifically to try it out for my rifles. I find that it works great for inspecting the throat and is much handier to use than the longer rifle version. The rigid rod allows the user to completely inspect the throat , 360 degrees. It is easier to manipulate/rotate than the longer rifle version. With the USB Camera Pro App, it is so easy to take pics or videos of your barrel. The other advantage to the borescope is that you don't over clean your barrel as you can visually assess if it needs cleaning and how effective is your cleaning regime. I have developed different cleaning practices for my barrels based on experimenting with what works on removing the stubborn carbon ring. Also very useful for monitoring throat condition, as with some rifle calibers, the throat starts to erode severely after 2500+ rounds. The Testing borescope allows you to monitor the throat condition and in conjunction with the barrel accuracy, it helps you determine when the barrel needs to be replaced. All of my shooting buddies are impressed with the image quality and the price. I have used the Hawkeye borescope, but is cost about $800 and I have a first generation Lyman borecam that now sits on the shelf... The Teslong Borescope has better image quality, is much cheaper in price and allows you to record your images. The other useful application for the Teslong Borescope is being able to inspect a barrel on a used gun prior to purchase/making an offer. It will save you money so you don't buy a firearm with a shot out barrel or one that is in rough shape. There is no reason why a shooter would not have a Teslong borescope and I highly recommend the pistol version.

Excellent Image Quality
I’ve been using my new Teslong NTG100 pistol borescope for a few days now. It is so easy to use! With my Mac, just plug it into the computer, launch Photo Booth and you are looking inside the barrel.Last year I ordered the rifle version and was blown away by the video quality of the scope. The same can be said for the pistol version, stunning when compared to what we use to spend a lot more $$$’s on previously! And in case you have the rifle version, the ends are interchangeable if you have the small rifle camera. I now use the scope to clean, and I clean differently since having the scope. What I use to think was a clean barrel isn’t so clean when viewed with the Teslong. At some point you just have to accept some copper fouling (especially in rifles), unless you are willing to use scrub every time, which I’m not! The video is so clear I am able to see the occasional cotton fiber left in the barrel from the cleaning patch.Teslong is very responsive to questions and warranty claims. I had a friend who lost the mirror on the tip and they sent a replacement right away. I use it without the mirror at first to get a general overview of the barrel, and then put the mirror on to get a super clear picture of any issues. The variable intensity light is valuable for taking the perfect snapshot. Having super clear snapshots to show the owner makes all the difference! This has taken a lot of guess work out of debugging issues with guns I don’t know.Everyone I have shown the Teslong too has purchased one. You can see the barrel wear very clearly…but what the heck, it still shoots good! I was using a borescope only when I needed it, but with the Teslong, I now use it as a daily tool.

It does what it is intended to do for a very reasonable price.
Borescope has good definition and capture. I'd buy again.

Fantastic scope for tubes!
We've been looking for exactly this borescope in all the wrong places before we found this one and we're extremely happy with it. The app was super easy and fast to setup and use and the scope just worked precisely how you'd hope it would. We're not using it for firearms but it's camera with a super short depth of field it's great at inspecting small tubes of this approximate diameter.Only two small recommendations to improve:-Have the light adjustment wheel on the scope itself instead of on the cable near the connector, then you could adjust it while moving the scope around with just one hand which would make it much more user friendly.-The sharp edge of the right angle mirror actually protrudes just slightly above the diameter of the rest of the scope and since it's a hard ceramic material it can easily scratch softer materials like the copper we're looking at.For the price though this is a fantastic product!

Works great software could use a little updating.
Requires the download of software for "Windows" did so and product worked as expected. The capture software if you want to make a video to examine later didn't work for me kept trying to use the camera on my laptop instead of the scope I'll need to play with it more to see if I can get it to work properly. Overall the capture aspect isn't that important to me currently, which is why I gave it a score of 4. Cable is long enough to get the job done without being unmanageable. I'd recommend to anyone looking for reasonably priced borescope.

More than enough for a DIY gunsmif
I bet professional may want more expensive tools, and this one is just enough for me. Check the quality of chamber machining, make sure all of the lead is removed from the barrel, carbon ring is gone -- that's all I wanted. And I was able to see the stuff just not visible with sighting the barrel with an eye and a white paper. The real machining quality on the cheap barrels which looked "just as good as the OEM" and the tooling marks I didn't want to believe.
