Good CPU, fast and stable
I purchased the Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 processor to replace a damaged E6850 on my ASUS P5W DH Deluxe motherboard. The 8600 was priced a lot lower than the 6850 (both advertised as refurbished). Even though the specs on my motherboard stated that due to chipset limitation (i975X) the P5W DH Deluxe would not fully support all the features of the Wolfdale 45nm CPU, I decided to take a gamble and am glad I did. The E8600 processor provides outstanding performance for my aging setup which I am not quite ready to give up just yet since it does all I need and still runs like new. I do not overclock my PC so the E8600 with 3.33GHz, 6M L2 Cache at 1333MHz, gave the most bang for my buck. The product was advertised as refurbished so I was a little concerned. However, the processor arrived earlier than promised and I was more than satisfied with its condition. If not for the fact that the item had been repackaged, I never would have guessed that this was a used processor. I checked the E8600 thoroughly before installing and could not find a single flaw or scratch. I installed the processor and was up and running within an hour.

Perfect for my upgrade task.
I have 10-year old eMachines ET1831-07 running Win 7 I decided to upgrade with minimum investment. And this is the highest performing LGA775 processor with the same TDP (65W) as original (E8700 practically impossible to find and/or extremely expensive). I could not go with higher TDP for 2 reasons: a lot of heat and I would need a new power supply. The processor came quick and had a thermal paste. After all my upgrades I can run Doom(2016) at 60 fps, albeit with minimum resolution and all goodies off.

Do not hesitate to buy this upgrade, if you have older dual-core system.
It arrived in a nice package with a static shield. It was clean and had no signs of wear. After installing it with some Arctic Silver 5, and clearing the cmos to default. It posted with the correct timing and cache along with the processor model number. E8600 3.33Ghz, 1333Mhz, 6MB Cache. It operates around 90F idle and 120F-130F under load. It is a massive improvement over the older Pentium dual-core processor, E2220. This processor along with 4GB of 800Mhz DDR2 ram, and a low profile GTX 750ti GPU from Gigabyte makes a ten year old computer able to play Diablo 3 at an astounding FPS rate. It peaks around 350 FPS and only drops to 130 FPS with alot of combat.

Good purchase!
Worked great! Computer runs well with the new to me CPU. It struggled to run flight simulator X on the very lowest graphics settings with no AI traffic at 40 frames per second. After the CPU change ive upped the traffic to 50% the frame rate to 60FPS and turned the non scenery related graphics up significantly with no lagging or crashing whatsoever! More than happy with this purchase as my only other option was buying a pure gaming PC. I only wish it would have shipped with some thermal paste, but no big deal.

Works as it should
I don't over clock my PC's but this CPU upgrade has made a difference for me at least. I'm a novice when it come to computers, but wanted an upgrade from E6700 to the E8600 without high wattage use. This was the best option to work within my setup without spending more $$, PS: Cosair 600W, Mobo: XFX790i SLI, GPU: Nvidia 8600GT, RAM: 8GB. I'm getting a way better response from most of my games, Now all I need is a better GPU.

E8600 Core2 Duo CPU gives new life to old computer, even used. If you search the web & word process, you can't beat the Price!
Well, last night (03-03-2016) I finally installed the E8600 dual core CPU you sent me... thank you very much. My observations coming from the E7400 (2.83 MHz) to the E8600 (3.33 MHz) is that it the E8600 is noticeably faster than the E7400 and from what I read, 2x the cache at 6 Mb. Another observation is that I can see that my E7400 was differently over heat damaged due to not having cleaned the heat sink for 6 years and running my case with the side open. By comparison, the E7400 ran at start-up 32/36C or as low as 27/32C per core, but after running for perhaps 30 mins or more the temps would spike to 45/52C and under load the temps would rise further to 69/70C... while the E8600 runs at start-up and under moderate load at 39/40C per core (which I thought at first was a little high, but these temps must be due to the higher frequency and voltage requirement of the E8600 vs the E7400) and under elevated load, the E8600 rose to 45/46C and stayed there, amazing... well, I am thankful for your service and that I ordered it in time, because it was failing that night. The only thing however, is that I need to upgrade my (a) Ram to take advantage of the faster bus speeds to PC3 8500 (DDR3 1066) at 2x 4GB = 8GB because the E8600 FSB is rated at 1333 MHz vs. the E7400 FSB rated at 1066 MHz, and of course (b) get off WinXP Pro for Win7 Pro 64bit OEM, Lastly, I am very pleased with the service and the delivery time... I phoned Tekcycle and spoke with Frank, very friendly and then I ordered the CPU through Amazon from Tekcycle, ordered it on Thurs, it shipped on Fri from Viriginia and I received it on Mon in LA (not Lousiana), Thanks again! Five Stars
Just what my old computer (Inspiron 530 w/ G33M02 motherboard, 6gb ram, 64-bit OS, Bios v1.0.16) needed to feel fast again. Upgraded from Core 2 Duo E6420 @2.13ghz to this one E8600 @3.33ghz and wow can feel the difference! This CPU is the best my G33M02 motherboard can take, otherwise I would have upgrade to Core 2 Quad Q9650 @3.0ghz CPU. My first time changing the processor and it was quick and easy. Working great so far and would recommend. Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33GHz Desktop Processor

Now new CPU chip
I had just finished upgrading my older computer - new and more RAM, SSD's, etc., when I received and email from Amazon saying there was a NEW CPU chip that was 25% faster than my existing CPU chip and for under $30. I thought great and bought it to complete my upgrade. I noticed that this NEW CPU had scuff marks on it - from having had a previous CPU heat sink on it. Definitely not NEW... I put it in my motherboard and it trashed it. I have now had to build a completely new computer - very very expensive.

Great processor. Especially if your doing a budget build. Don't get me wrong, a newer processor would definitely be faster, but the Core 2 Duo is definitely a step up from the Pentium 4 I had been using for almost 10 years. This CPU has great overclocking abilities (almost double clock speeds with the right setup) and its really easy to overclock so its a perfect CPU for anyone looking to get into Overclocking without having to worry about messing up a $400+ CPU. As far as the silicon lottery goes, buying a used CPU might even be your best bet for overclocking cause as far as I see it, if its survived up to this point then it pretty much has to be a good processor. I currently have a 10% overclock on mine without any problems and i can push the overclock up to 4.2 GHz with no voltage change and its stable but then i start running into temperature problems, which just means i need a better CPU cooler for a bigger overclock
