I ordered this 7/2021. It’s 5/2022. The flashlight and taser functions have started to give out. I’ll be walking the dogs when it’s dark and the flashlight will turn off and turn back on. The stun function has failed on me a couple of times too when the flashlight function is on. I had an identical model before the one I bought in 2021 and the same thing happened after about a year. I just bought another brand to replace this flashlight/stunner (whatever it’s called).It’s durable and a good sturdy weight. If you needed to strike someone with it, like when the stun function fails, it might deter an attacker if you were to hit the temple or eye.The flashlight beam is decent until it starts to go out.The wrist strap could be sturdier; it snapped after about 6 months and I rarely used the wrist strap. The item is too heavy for that skinny strap.A fully-charged light indicator or replaceable battery would be handy too.

I already had bought one 3 years ago. The high quality batteries hold a charge for years. It works first time every time.I had bought 4 of the 25$ off brand tasers and they were like cheap flashlights . After a few months the switches didn’t always work and if I was in an emergency situation it would be like jammed firearm. You know how a cheap flashlight you have to bash it to get it to work. That’s how the off brand tasers are! You might taser yourself trying to get it to work.The taser brand works flawlessly year after year. It gives peace of mind to know that it’s ready to go at a seconds notice , no glitches.I will say that the 3 year old taser switch was more of a hair trigger than the new one. I prefer the harder trigger pull of the later model. I am glad they addressed this as this was my only negative critique of the 3 year old strike light . The heavier trigger is a less likely misfire situation.In short reasonable price for superior price of mind. It’s got to work in an emergency. The strike light does. I have never been put in a situation so far to use it. I do not fear it although the sound is deeply jarring. I have gotten used to it. 3 of 4 of our dogs will leave the room when they hear it .

So far, so good. Arrived on time. Had a charge already. Tested out fine. Gave it a long charge anyway.My wife is quite pleased. Much better than the lessor ones we've had before. (each broke in a matter of months)Wife happy, then I am happy.If this doesn't freak out a dog.... nothing will...!!!In addition. Since the purchase.... we have each DROPPED the Taser .... decent drop, too! And all is well.Have tested it, and works just fine. Seems pretty rugged!!

its a taser so it is a well made product.it works well for me but I cannot recommend it to just everybody.it has dna catching notches on both ends, yet they say it's not for striking as it could break the product.you cant drop it, get it wet, or strike with it, or it may break.it is not designed to incapacitate an attacker like their other products, and nowhere could I find what voltages it produces.I wish taser would have told me all of the above before I purchased the product, but nowhere could I find this info. except in the owners manual.it works for me as a lesser level of force, as it has a nice light to shine in the eyes, and the arc produced sounds scary.also in a pinch you could hammer on an attacker with it, and just have a broken tool, worth it if you could save yourself.I take public transportation in los angeles, so need several force options.I would consider my cold steel inferno pepper spray and asp tactical pen a more reliable, but more serious level of protection.your mileage may differ.

Let me say again: DO NOT TEST THIS ON YOURSELF. However, if you're not completely dissuaded, your curiosity outweighs your self-control, or you're the type of person who licked Nintendo Switch cartridges just to see what all the fuss was about, let me provide a little more detail. For context: I've previously performed this ill-advised action on other less expensive off-brand or overseas-sourced devices; out of a feeling of responsibility for the individual to whom it was being gifted. I can confirm (so you don't have to) that this particular device, irrespective of advertised power, subjectively has materially greater impact on the (i.e. "my") human body. In other words: It works. Well.Again, please don't test this on yourself; I did it so you don't have to.

I purchased this item to give to my wife for walking dog at night and morning. I wanted her to have a light and something to protect herself when I am not around. When we received it I have to be honest I was going to show her how to use it and have her try it with me coming at her so she could have practice on exactly what to do. Light on press taser button and thrust into assailant if required. The first time I heard it go off made me reevaluate having her use it on me. The sound is so intimidating and loud that in itself would be a huge deterrent. It is like a lightning bolt going off in your hands. It is a very well built product. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a non lethal personal protection device.
