People were saying to size up in the reviews. Don’t do that, just order your size or you’ll have to cut it shorter. Plastic buckle but it seems sturdy.

the buckle is made of plastic so if you have a job a place you have to constantly visit & don't want to set of the alarm as your passing by also like the airport secuirty screening process. This is perfect for that. I have job that they don't allow anything that beeps to be allowed on you & that includes metals belt buckles so got tired of pulling up my pants all the time & this works for that. The bubkle is made of plastic as already mention but also doesn't seem like its going to break when you try to put it on or adjusted. No instructions on how to put in on take it off or remove or replace buckle (which by the way I couldn't find a replacement if it ever breaks & I need to replace it).How to put it oninsert belt strap into hole (that's of course if the belt doesn't come with the buckle separate) then tighten as desired & then press down on the part of the buckle that sticks out & if you hear a sound (which is good) then belt is secured.To removeWhat I dont personally is pull on the excess strap to the right to lossen or at least to get the teeth of the buckle to stop let go of the belt itself, then (if your a big guy), your belly might push out on the belt & is why belt hasn't completely lossen to undo pants button & so on. So to completely remove or undo belt, depending on which side the buckle is at my left side is where the buckle is located & my right is where the belt strap is. My left hand is the one the that is going to pull on the buckle. So with my right I pull on belt strap, & my left pulls the buckle itself, not make sure your pulling from the sides of the buckle, & when I mean sides I mean the top & bottom of the buckle as your point of view of the buckle when the belt is on. Best to do this like the day before you have a big appointemtn or have to go to work or school. Once you feel you pull the buckle away from the belt strap then pull the strap all the way out & now the belt should be undone.Would suggest not the cut the belt too much off if the strap has excess. The strap is needed in my opinion to remove the belt unless someone else can show me how to remove it without the excess belt strap.In the pictures of the item the last picture shows how to remove the buckle is you ever needed or want to know how to. Found that out a few days later after I received my belt.

Holds the old pants up and gets through security with no problem

Very rarely do I leave reviews, but this kinda pissed me off. Now mind you I bought 2 belts same type but different company’s and the other was about $1.50 more. This belt broke the first time I went to try it. I went to snap it in place and it broke. The lock mechanism is hard to push in place and broke almost instantly when I locked it in place. The one I spent $1.50 more on holds up a lot better

Oh man I really really want to love this belt but (sigh) whenever I adjust it to make it tighter, i start walking and it get loose a couple seconds in. I’m at work all shift I keep adjusting the belt and holding my pants up.
