Great product!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I picked this product because I needed a straightforward solution for our sump pump, which is on a GFI plug. A few weeks ago, the pump stopped working, not because of a power outage, but because the GFI had tripped. While we are well protected from power outages, a GFI issue is not something I had considered, and if we happened to be away and not hearing the alarm, disaster would have ensued. The MySpool Power Failure Detector was easy to set up, and extremely reliable in our testing. Very highly recommended for peace of mind. A+++

Easy Setup - Well worth the money!!
Works like a champ! Easy to setup on WIFI! I plugged it in to an outlet in my office, setup the WIFI, setup my account and put in my e-mail and phone number. Took 5 minutes. I then unplugged it and boom - I was notified. Now that it was working, I plugged it into the GFI in the garage. I like the bright green light. I can see it is on when I drive in to park. It was a great purchase, well worth the money.

Works exactly as described.
I was having a problem with my freezer tripping the breaker and didn't want to lose anything in it so I purchased this to help inform me of the power problem. I just plugged it into the same outlet as the freezer. It was easy to install and easy to register. I get both an email and a text message when the power fails. Sure enough, two days after installing I received the messages and was able to save thousands of dollars of customer merchandise because of it. The only issue could be you need WIFI in order for it to work.

Essential for Sol-Ark inverter users
It’s great. Does exactly what it should. Nice build quality. Comes with 3 AAA alkalines installed but apparently only uses them in outages. Smart. The only downside is that you’re spending $60 and hoping the company stays in business for as long as you need the alerts. It includes the subscription. Remove AC power from the USB adapter it’s plugged into and it fires off up to 2 SMS texts and as many as 5 email addresses. Then you can set up a distinctive alert on your phone to differentiate from the daily noise. This is a God-send as we have a solar and storage system yet don’t receive utility outage notifications. So power could be out and we be draining our battery and not know it. I have a second panel that is only powered from utility. So I put this on a circuit on that panel. Then I can make load decisions in an outage. Eg turn off things that will take the battery down quickly.

Works as advertised
Easy to set up and works as advertised. Just make sure your WiFi stays powered on during a power outage like mine does (UPS), because it doesn’t use cellular to send a text. The bonus is no subscription cost like other similar devices.

It works fine, but configuration wasn't easy
I bought this monitor to determine the duty cycle of a water pump that is controlled by a pressure switch from the pressure tank it feeds to. That is, instead of using it to know when the power is out, I wanted to know when the pump was ON and OFF, to see how much time in total it was ON during the day.Instructions are simple and straightforward, but the implementation of the configuration screen is rather poor. I tried to set it up from my phone, but the wifi connection continually droped. I then tried from my laptop and finally could access the configuration screen, but it was really bad and not responding properly. I had to use the "No Scan" option to configure the wifi. There was no feedback from this step, but when I created my online account at myspool dot com, my device appeared there, so all was good.In order to get email notifications, you need to authorize a request you receive from AWS Notifications or something like that, or else, you will NOT get any email notification on Power ON and OFF.After all this was set and done, my device has been working with no problems, and now I have some nice charts in Excel that show the duty cycle of the pump.

So far so good
Had some initial issues setting it up but that’s not uncommon because I use a vpn on my devices most of the time. Once I paused the vpn was able to set it up without any issue. I plugged it in to the GFCI circuit all my outdoor landscape lights are on . Unfortunately a refrigerator and a freezer were on it too and the dang thing was starting to trip every time it rains. I moved the appliances off the circuit but still want to know when it trips. It seems to work perfectly for that. It sends the sms and email within a minute after the GFCI trips. It helped me troubleshoot and I think I found what is causing it to trip but there are other iffy connections on this line so I’m glad Ive got it. So for now the best I can say is so far so good and working as advertised.
