So bright!
All the GU10 lights in our living room and kitchen had become quite dim so we decided to replace them all whilst not spending a ridiculous amount. Was pleasently surprised by the brightness of the bulbs and really made us realise how dim the old lights were. Too early to tell in regards to their longevity but hoping they last a while as described.

Great product so far!
I purchased these as a direct replacement for a faulty equivalent brand. I also replaced the last couple of halogen bulbs. The problem with spots is just that - they are spots and don't spread light evenly around the room - these bulbs are excellent at spreading the light! Transformed the light in my kitchen and two bathrooms. They are seriously bright though! So be warned - they are defo brighter than a 50w halogen! You can see in my photo that the 2 bulbs on the left are notably brighter than the toshiba brand I used before - and they were 7.2w! One of my new bulbs dropped out of the fitting to the floor (user error) and when I replaced it - to my surprise it still worked!

Be careful what you wish for!
I really should have looked more carefully before ordering but I wanted more light so ordered these. We have ceiling downlighters in our kitchen and dining room but the 4.2w Philips bulbs in the kitchen were a touch too warm (2700k) and not quite as bright as I'd have liked. I've used Auraglow before and been happy with them so when I saw these as 7w 'Super Bright' LEDs I thought great. The Good: The light temperature is good, 3000k I think is a good balance for most living spaces. Brightness? yes they are bright but are they 'SUPER' bright? - well it's hard to say. What is easy to say though is on the kitchen worktops there was only moderately more light, the reason becomes obvious when the LED configuration in the bulb is realised, to achieve the 100 degree beam angle, the LEDs are very forward in the bulb and are SMDs behind a fogged diffuser. Thus the light they do throw is dispersed over a much greater area meaning that surfaces directly below the bulb centre are actually not that much more brightly lit than a standard 4w LED with a 38 degree beam angle. So if you have very widely spaced downlights and suffer from dark areas on the floor or worktops, these may well offer benefit and they certainly throw light further up the walls, but if your downlight spacing is reasonably standard then you may not notice as much increased brightness as the additional lumens/wattage might suggest. The Bad: Normally I tend towards function over form, but in lighting, quality and ambiance in living areas makes a huge difference in how different lighting is received. What was immediately obvious with these lamps was that they completely changed the ambiance of the kitchen, the room immediately felt more harshly lit (and it wasn't the colour temperature) the walls were brighter and the ceiling was brighter but the actual floor and work surfaces were not significantly better lit. Also because of their 100 degree beam angle when you looked into or across the room the brightness from the ceiling was distracting and not very pleasant - the bulbs with a narrower beam have the LEDS recessed so in the ceiling you only get the brightness in your eyes if standing very near a fitting and looking up. The best way I can describe the effect of these bulbs is a room with a very bright hanging bulb but no lamp shade. Also they are SMDs (lots of little LEDs rather than a single LED cluster or COB) I really don't like the look of SMD LEDs (though at least you can't see them when they're off due to the fogged diffuser)In summary, if your only goal is simply to gain more light over a wider area (including higher up the walls) then these bulbs may well suite your needs, but if you want to brighten the floor and worktops only and maintain a better lighting ambiance with limited glaring from the ceiling I'd suggest looking for a very bright downlight COB type LED bulb - that's what I'll be buying.

Can't vouch for long term use yet but so far the bulbs are excellent. I bought 8 initially and tthey were that good that I bought another 16. Far better than the halogens.
