Big, stiff and MIL-SPEC. Measure carefully, these are sized large.
Like the other reviewers have stated, this is a very heavy duty dog collar. Materials and construction seem to be in line with MIL-SPEC. Materials are heavy nylon and high-impact, injection-molded plastics. Stitching is heavy and the overall feel is very stiff. Not sure about the handle yet, but it certainly can't hurt. These things being said, however, I do have a couple of concerns:The first is the small triangular leash attachment point. It's thin and plastic and I expect it to fail. Not from stress breakage due to heavy leash use, but from being chewed apart by a couple of Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies. These two little princesses chew EVERYTHING and will no doubt spend endless hours chewing each other's collars to shreds. Fortunately, I won't be leashing these girls with the FDC collars, but with prong collars, so the tabs may last a little longer than they would otherwise. (If you have puppies that fight leashes with regular collars, try a prong collar. They look barbaric, but the prongs simulate mama dog's teeth and tend to calm puppies down very quickly. Prong collars also cause less damage to a dog's throat/larynx when correcting. Way better than choke chains, which I consider to be barbaric.)My second concern is sizing. I had measured both pup's collars before ordering and they were both right at 14 inches. These collars were marked on the Amazon listing as size 'L' (14"-16"). Unfortunately, the collars won't adjust to less than 15", so they're sized large and will be too large for the puppies, at least for another month or two.Overall, fit and finish are first rate, with exceptions as noted. We'll try fitting them in a couple of months and see how they perform. For now, recommended.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
First Glance they seem good. I have a tough dog and she can pull. I had TWO.. of these collars on her.. her leash was hooked through both. She saw some deer, took off.. BROKE BOTH METAL SECTIONS THAT THE LEASH CONNECTED TO. If you have a strong dog.. dont buy these.

Not strong enough to handle a german shepard pup
Just got this collar yesterday and it already is useless. I have an almost 1 year old german sheppard and when i took him out for a walk he got too strong and pulled and broke the metal clip that the leash clips to. Now that clip is broken and i have no way of taking him for a walk or putting him outside.

Perfect for my boy
We are loving this collar. I did give it only 2 stars for stretch because it doesn’t really stretch which is great since if it did my smart boy would be out of it and it would be lost like soooooo many collars before it. I love having the handle when we are out in the yard and someone walks by. My boy is a barker and although he doesn’t chase it makes people more comfortable if I hold him so having that easy to grab handle is really convenient. It is also well positioned in relation to the leash ring. At first I was skeptical but it is easy to hold and still get him hooked up, I’ve never had an issue. Aside from being a wonderfully functional collar it’s also pretty cool looking on my handsome boy. I wanted a tough looking collar that still had some respectable class and this has been perfect.

It Broke! It needs to be made stronger!
I loved this collar until it broke, and let my dog go on an extremely dangerous 2 hour running spree.Just like many other dog lovers, my dog is my baby. He is family.I hooked his leash onto his collar, we started walking, and all the sudden, I unexpectedly heard a snap sound. My dog was startled by the snap sound of his collar breaking, and his end of the leash hitting the pavement. He immediately bolted off. For 2 hours I was panicking, crying, calling his name, running on foot, then driving all around searching for him, doing anything I could to find him, and get him home safely.I am unbelievably grateful I was able to find him, and bring him home safely.I need something better. I can't let this happen again. I did research prior to buying this collar. I read the description. I read "tactical." Everything mentioned, leads you to believe that this is a strong and durable collar.Well, you can see the picture attached with my review. You can see others have posted a review showing their collar broke in almost the exactly the same way.The metal portion of the collar, where the leash attaches, is not strong, sturdy, or durable enough to protect your pet! It breaks! Keep you pet safe! Find something better!

Decent, but not worth the price
Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with this collar. The dog I bought it for is a German Shepherd/Great Dane mix. The collar looks good on him, though not as good as I thought it would. Looks aren't what my problem with it is though. My problem is having the collar on him. The material seems to have some give in it where it shouldn't. If I have it tight enough that he can't shake out of it, it's too tight. I can't get my fingers underneath it, and it smashes down his fur leaving an impression. If I loosen it up at all, he can shake out of it when I try holding him. It's not good for walks at all if there's so much as a squirrel around, as all he has to do is stop, pull back and shake his head to escape it.The handle is convenient to have, I like the overall look, but would not recommend this product for any large breed with medium length or longer fur. Three stars is all I can give. If it was cheaper than it is, maybe it'd get a fourth.

It is a winner
This is the third tactical collar we have purchased for Millie our rottweiler. It has been something like the 3 bears, the first one was complicated and fit well but we struggled with the velcro, the second one even though advertised large size would fit now and later with continued growth was too big. The FDC collar, easy to fit, easy to put on a winner. There are only two things wrong with it, the black matches her color and disappears into her fur and it isn't red, there wasn't a red collar made by FDC?

Great collar
This collar is great for my male mastiff/great pyrenees dog. He's well over 100 lbs and can pull like a train engine. There are many reviews that state the metal part where the leash attaches breaks easily. I can see why. It's very thin metal but my Max is trained not to pull so hard and if he does break it, I'll replace with a D-ring, so no biggie.
