I have a small Videography and Film Production company, picked one of these up because I needed more available storage and didn't have the budget to drop $$ on a good samsung T-series SSD. Initially, I didn't really expect a whole lot, figured that it would work about as well as the last crappy off brand thumb drive that I bought but, I'm happy to say that I was very pleasantly surprised. I can transfer files back and forth with relative ease and within a reasonable amount of time. This performed so well, that now, when clients ask for the raw files from a video project, I purchase one of these to copy them over to and give to the client, simply because it doesn't take 3 days and multiple tries to transfer 200+GB. Would highly recommend!

This is a great External SSD Drive. I use these Gigastone Drives to make backups of my machine. The first one is almost exclusively a backup of my IPOD because who wants to reinstall all those CD's onto a drive and then back it up! I was lucky enough to get one last use out of the prior backup drive to move it to this SSD. The other 2 drives have been used with EaseUS Todo Backup to make daily incremental backups overnight and add to the full backup. I highly recommend this drive and it doesn't take up much space!

I love this device and was actually planning on returning, because on one of my laptops, it would not stay connected. They gave various fixes and I tried them all, but to no avail. What I believe is that the current windows update version on windows 10 pro, did something. Machine contained windows 3.1 Extensible USB port or something like that, which made the device stop working after a few minutes. Had to keep plugging back in to continue working. Since I planned to run software from this device, I could not keep doing this, so I am now using on different machine and all is well.

My wife is working from home now because of the CCP virus. I had to set up a workstation for her. She brought home a very small HP tablet. It is very powerful so I knew with the correct hardware I could set her up with a killer system. The tablet is i7 with 256g SSD. This 1TB portable is so tiny, no moving parts, no noise and fast. She is happy so, happy wife , happy life (for me). Cheers

I got it today and i read the quick setup manual and it says pretty much all i need to do is pluig it in and wallah but when i plug it in i hear the system audio that lets me know it was plugged in however it doesn't show up under My PC where my hdd is, read many guides no help, i look at disk management to see if it has at least created an partition of some sort, yet all i see is my hdd and recovery hard drives, and i don't know what to do here because the pamplet says nothing else besides just plug it in any help would be appreciated

I had to have a fan blowing on this thing in order to back up about 1GB of data to it.Occasional reads/writes are fine, but if you're doing big file transfers, make sure you keep it cool.

I originally I got a bad product, because I was only getting 29MB per second writing to it. It turns out I was using a cable I also bought on amazon, and it was only rated at USB 2.0. I used the supplied cable. Which is 4" long and hard to use and got a sustained speed of 300MB/s (writing). So make sure you use the supplied cable or USB 3.1 or better cable.

This usb drive and the other Gigastone memory devices(externa SSD and micro SD card) have all been best that I've seen on multiple media devices such as Amazon Fire Tablet, Fire Stick, OTA recorder, HD Recorders and media players. Other brands seemed to work on some but not all and then had data corruption.
