O-MEGA Star Warrior Stun Gun, Extra Large, 18.5 inches, 2.5 lb., Max Amps and Stopping Power

I have recently purchased this O-MEGA Star Warrior Stun Gun. And I have to say I really feel much safer because of this product. We live very rurally and help isn't going to arrive here very quickly in an emergency. A nearby residence has two Pitbull's that unfortunately they allow to roam freely. They have already been in my yard numerous times, and these two roving dogs have attacked one neighbor's three miniature pigs and killed them, as well as killing two cats and severely mauling a German Shepherd who spent ten days at the vet's recovering. I am a true dog lover, and do not blame these two Pitbulls so much as their owners. And these dogs are just behaving like their breed trait dictates when they are not being controlled by their careless owners. But I have two goofy Border Collies who think everyone and everything is their friend. And I am absolutely petrified these two Pitbulls will keep coming here and eventually attack my BC's and hurt them. Or attack me. Tragically, just a few years ago, two Pitbull mixes attacked and killed a two year old boy just a few miles from my home. Again, a case of negligent dog owners. So I began seeking out some form of protection that I could count on in the event either myself or my dogs are attacked. After research, I decided my best option would be a stun gun. So I did further research, and every single website recommended this O-MEGA Star Warrior Stun Gun as the best. As you can see (and hear!) by the attached video, this O-MEGA STUN GUN is large, loud, intimidating, and puts on a threatening light show. It seems to be high quality and very powerful. And it has given me so much assurance that I am no longer helpless or an easy target if these two roving Pitbulls attack here. I wanted a defense tool that would not cause permanent harm to anything or anyone. I don't like guns, and pepper spray is too dicey because it would go everywhere, including my eyes or into my dog's eyes as well. I feel so much safer because of this O-MEGA Star Warrior Stun Gun. I was pleasantly surprised to find it came with two high quality Duracell Procell 9 Volt Batteries, but I also ordered a 12 pack of these batteries so I would have a ready supply on hand when I needed them. The O-MEGA Star Warrior Stun Gun is very easy to use. Just press the on switch, and the baton immediately turns on and is ready to use. No complicated switches or fumbling, and I like that it will deliver a shock on the entire length of the baton. It has a sturdy wrist strap so the stun baton cannot be grabbed or knocked out of your hand. The only thing you have to be sure of is keeping your hand firmly on the grip. No worries either about aiming or setting prongs from a taser.

This unit should be ideal to keep handy in the home or vehicle to ward off anything or anyone needing to be repelled. In my case I bought it to take on board an off-road vehicle which I use in a rural area where, unfortunately, some of the locals allow their dogs to run free and chase people, vehicles, anything. I was on the receiving end of a dog bite recently and I'm more than confident this powerful baton could easily protect me in the future. The voltage rating is honest (most are hyped and can be one sign of a junk stun-gun) and I believe the delivered current is 5 milliamperes, which may be the legal limit. So this is a maximum power unit with the added bonus of 360 degree electrical charge along the full length of a relatively long baton. It would be extremely easy to deliver a shock and sustain it on an attacker; furthermore, it would be very difficult for an attacker (in a hand-to-hand situation) to disarm anyone wielding this unit. I do wish the baton were a bit lighter and better balanced, but for what it is and does, the weight is probably necessary to the design, so no points deduction in my review for weight. Would I trade any function for less weight? No, not in my application. So you have to decide for yourself if this is the right tool for you. If frequent personal carry in a variety of circumstances is your primary use, this may not be the right product. If you don't mind lugging it along on walks (and don't mind not concealing it), want a capable home defense tool to augment other measures you may have on hand, or want something for vehicle carry, it may be perfect. Overall construction seems good, and I especially like the quality of the 9-volt battery connectors - you can do much worse. I had no problem installing the batteries (as some seem to have). I did add a small piece of light foam-rubber to the inside of the battery cap to stabilize the batteries inside the handle. Although some have suggested, I would not consider the device suitable for use as a striking baton. It's not made for that and may very well break and become disabled in its primary purpose as a stun-gun. I'm giving 5 stars because I really can't find fault when considered for its intended purpose (non-concealed carry, heavy duty). One other thing - some have complained about the lack of a safety switch. Speaking strictly for myself, I want as few obstacles in my way as practical to activating any self-defense tool. To those worried about the lack of a switch safety mechanism, I would simply suggest training, training, and more training - so important!

This thing is awesome! It is quite hefty and well-made. It could actually be used to hit someone/an animal if the electricity didn't keep them down long enough. The description says it weighs 2.5 lbs, and it most certainly does. I walk 45 minutes or more every day and have to switch it from hand to hand a couple of times to give the shoulder of the arm that's holding it a rest. I feel very safe walking with this baton, and love the visual effect when you fire it. The Safety Switch and the On/Off buttons are positioned so that it's fast and easy use, even in the dark.
