Excellent As Promised But Not Without A Quality Control Issue
My family started using Microwave ovens in the late 1970's they were enormous back then but they were powerful and did a good job.The first one I purchased for myself was a 1100 watt magic chef in the late 1980's it travelled with me for decades and worked great for something like 20 years and was still working when I gave it to a friend. Then in the 2000's I noticed a shift where it was not common to find 1100 watt microwaves and it has continued till this day where 1000 watts is where most top out.Anyway there have been other microwaves all pretty much disappointing in performance and as of recently I said that's it! I want a high performance microwave with a good interior size no more of these cramped 1.2 CF interiors and purchased this one as the exterior dimensions are not that much greater at 1.6 CF interior room. When I received this one I was at first amazed how light weight it is compared to the one it was replacing and realized it is the inverter technology lightening things up. It is so light weight in fact it will skid across the table opening and closing it.No problem I just put some drawer liners under the feet to keep it from sliding around. When I plugged it in for the first time it made a horrible noise I thought what the heck this is brand new where is this noise coming from?? at first I thought it was a bad gear in the turn table mechanism and tried to turn it with my fingers to feel if there was anything wrong with it but it was tight which it should be.After turning it on and off a few times I zeroed in on the sound and discovered it was a fan hitting something internally so being a technician I took the cowling off being very mindful not to touch any high energy components like capacitors or come in contact with wiring which could be potentially lethal.Note: It does require tamper proof Torx head screw drivers or a very good precision set of Torx drivers to remove the case screws to get into the appliance.Note: I do not recommend or endorse nor encourage that anyone should do as I have done but illustrate an issue with Quality Control on Toshibas part and the actions I took to correct it so others are aware when making this purchase they may encounter the same issue.Note: People who are unfamiliar with electricity, electronics or working with and around High Voltages weather it be DC or AC Circuits should not attempt to open one of these units as it can be lethal. Certain components like capacitor's will carry a lethal charge of electricity that can last for weeks even when unplugged and it can kill you.Note: I myself have been an electronics Technician in many professional work environments including appliance repair for decades and am still learning and always wary of touching anything I do not understand and even more cautious of touching things I do understand.I then discovered a metal duct work for channeling the air over components was not installed correctly (see picture included with this review) and I needed to bend it to get it out of the way of the fan blades, Two screws later and cautiously removing the shroud using insulated magnetic tools then a quick bend with a pair of needle nose plyers replaced the shroud and the problem was solved. After repairing this minor Issue, the Microwave works better than any I have ever used.Coffee & tea perfectly hot within 1 minute and I like mine HOT.Cook times are greatly reduced and the cooking is more even.Defrost by weight works perfectly, amazingly so.The feature to turn off the chimes is priceless no more stupid loud dinging when starting and finishing a cook cycle. When you turn off the noise however the kitchen timer also does not make noise. The microwave is also extremely quiet when running. All in all I am very pleased with this Microwave and hope what I experienced was just a one off, otherwise Toshiba had better get there Quality Control act together or there are going to be allot of returns for a very simple issue that should never have been permitted to leave the factory.

Quality, true unpaid review
I am writing this review to talk about this product. After dealing with a problem oven for years, I was just so so surprised at this oven. It’s a great size, it’s pretty, works great!!!I looked at used ovens on marketplace, I ask myself why these prices? Used-$200.00! This oven was less than 170.And, omg!! The way it defrosts!!This oven is like the shy little newcomer kid at school. But when he stood up to speak, this big voice came out! This is not a cheap, flimsily oven. It’s built well, child lock on door, bit hard to get used to, but I did in a couple of days. There is nothing bad I can say. It’s a great, powerful oven and I don’t think anyone could go wrong.

QualityAppearance/Features:30sec button,Signal Mute,1-6 min buttons, Sensor/Auto features
TOSHIBA ML4-EM12PA(BS) Countertop Microwave: I really bought this for the 30-sec button. That is what I use most of the time. The 30-secs re-heats most everything to the right temp, fast, without running again. The signal-off mute is GREAT!. The LED inside light is easy on the eyes. Buttons are easy to read, pushing the center of the buttons, easily starts the function. It has a child lock-out. It can be disabled quickly, and/or permanently. I did a lot of research on MW ovens, and this one had all the features I wanted at the right price. The reason I bought it was for the following features: the size, stainless steel, 1000 watt, signal-mute, 30-sec button: press once to run or add 30-secs at a time, 12.5 turntable, plus it has all the other features. Since you can't try out appliance even in the stores, I did not know that you can't enter 1 min:45 sec, or 2 min 25 secs manually. So use the 1-6 minute buttons with the 30-sec button, instead. I would have given 5 stars, but the door release button is an issue for me (below). This microwave oven has a very hard door-release. (Who would have thought this would be the issue!) I was not expecting the door latch to be this hard to push, especially if you have trouble with your hands or thin fingers. Using the index finger to release it, hurts my finger. There is no way to make it easier to open. My microwave is eye level, so for me the Work-Around is: I reach in from the side and release the door using my thumb, with fingers pointing up.Note to Manufacturer: Should consider opening the door, in an easier way, or pad the release button. It is too hard on the side of the finger. Consider who will be using it. Child safety is not the only thing that should be considered.

works great so far looks nice.
Well I took a picture and it knocked off my previous review. Hopefully I don't post twice. It did arrive completely undamaged. I ordered the 2.2 I wanted a larger microwave. I live in anapartment and it fit good on my counter. Just slightly bigger than my old Panasonic one. I didn't buy another Panasonic because of the bad reviews on their new ones. the main one I didn't like was the peeling of the inside of their microwave. My old one still works and it's over 20 years old it's downstairs incase anything happens to this one. I wanted to try the new inverter tech. I did get the extra insurance on this one because there is bad reviews on every microwave it seems. this one sounds great so far, works great and looks very nice. I will come back on here and let you know if anything happens to it in the coming years. I believe in honest reviews. I really like it so far it works great. Toshiba and Panasonic need to work on the quality of their microwaves before they ruin their reputationsand people no longer want to buy their products. I couldn't go with Panasonic this time because too many people listed having trouble with inside burning and peeling of the inside.I almost cancelled this order but I'm glad I bought it. I do really love it so far.
