Nice little Compass
Does the job it is intended for . Sturdy accurate and well made. A good value for your money, and great for professionals, students, and artists alike The compass works smoothly and no defects at all. Easy use and looks nice and feels good in handling.

Geometry class must have
Solid construction, precise instrument, plus even more extra lead than was described (and a mustache cutout). Perfect for my freshman taking geometry. Loved the value and color options.

Good quality
This is a good quality compass for high school geometry. It is made of sturdy metal. The point and pencil can be easily replaced if/when necessary. The best part: the circle doesn't get bigger as I draw...it stays in the same setting! It works so much better than the compass I remember having to draw with!

Does the job, but clearly a low-budget item
This compass does the job of a compass and does it very well. They even throw in some extra lead and a little storage pouch too! But while it does its job well, it doesn’t really scream “quality” at all.A big disappointment was when I first saw it and noticed it’s painted. Not anodized or coated, it’s paint and it’s obviously paint, with small lumps and uneven spots. In my opinion it doesn’t look much like the images other than in shape, with the color not looking close at all. The other point against: the adjustment screw is not centered between the arms. If set as wide as possible this is very obvious and is likely limiting the total amount of adjustment. It’s certainly not a professional-level product but then again it’s not a professional-level price either. It’ll draw a circle or an arc, help you measure things, and even scribe some things like I have, but it won’t win any awards for build quality.

Economical Yet Functional
This is not a professional quality tool and is limited on the min/max width. It's an economical tool that does what it's supposed to do. It doesn't lock, strictly speaking, but the adjustment wheel is firm enough. It comes with 10-15 replacement leads. Comically, two of the three little vials containing lead were empty and their contents were rolling around in the little bag. One of them still had the cap on it, so I have to think the person packing it was all out of effs to give that day and just dumped the required number of parts in the bag instead of trying to fix it.Two steel tip replacements, two little tightening wheel replacements and strangely no little screw replacements. A mustache sticker and a hand-written thank you note. It's stable enough for what I need to use it for. Doesn't have as much flex as some folks have reported. But if you're looking for a tool with tight tolerances and high production value for architecture or engineering use, go spend $100 - 200+ on a different product.

It came with a mustache sticker!
The compass came in a nifty pouch with extras of the replaceable parts. Ihaven't used it yet, but it looks great. Exactly as advertised.

Very Disappointed- Really not useful at widths beyond 2" Falls apart at 3"
I was hopeful about this compass/dividers. I am a boater and teach a number of people the basics of navigation / chart plotting. Many of them are just looking to get an idea of how it is done. Most have no real need to use the skill for real-life navigation. On the Amazon site, the item looked like it may work as a low-cost option. Unfortunately, before I even got a chance to try out the compass on a chart, I tried adjusting the compass to near its widest setting to get an idea of how wide it was able to go. As I neared the widest opening....the compass literally fell apart. The spring/clamp at the top came free from the legs of the compass and it fell into pieces. It remains fairly stable to about 2.25 inches although throughout the entire range there is about a 1/8" "flex" for lack of a better term. It feels like the pivot point has some "give" to it where it is just the strength of the spring keeping it from flexing. Beyond 2.25"...lets say at 2.5" it starts getting loose to the point I would say it becomes unusable if you need any consistency. At 2 5/8" it starts feeling like it is going to fall apart and gets progressively worse till it reaches 3" where any manipulation of the device will cause the pivot point and spring to come apart. The packaging says it will make circles up to 8" in diameter. Even if you did your best to hold the pieces together (near impossible unless you had 3 hands....you would have to force the adjustment wheel to spread the compass to 4" wide. I am very disappointed. Additionally, the screw/thumbscrews to hold the points/leads in place are also poorly made. I will submit this review then try to amend it with photos from my phone.
