Great little founding setup
I was looking for something a little bit nicer than the standard test tube founding queen setup for ant colonies just starting out and this nest is a winner. It has very good humidity via the sponge on the back and a small outworld section that lets me place small food/water/nectar without interfering with the nest itself. For initial setup: Take off the back plate that holds the humidity sponge in place. Place the sponge in water for ~6 hours as it can be extremely dry and not properly take water through the water port when it first arrives. Use one of the liquid tubes for water and one for nectar. Attach one of the spare bands to the back of each tube so that as the tube is used air bubbles flow to the back of the tube.I also recommend using either a red film like in my review pic or keeping the nest in a dark area as founding queens are extremely sensitive to light. This setup is good for the first ~10-30 workers depending on species size, I have a camponotus queen in one now and she has a good amount of room while still feeling very closed in which is important for starting colonies.

Awesome, even for large species
This is an ideal interim nest when the water in the tube runs dry or your colony needs to eat. My little colony moved right in within 48 hours. Even the giant Queen is comfy! So much easier to feed them and get them water now. Just wish there was one other port on the outworld, as there is only one. There's even a thoughtful rubber cover for the sponge filling port, and a fine screen between the sponge and the nest. There are even extra O-rings. The creator thought of nearly everything!***Tip for getting the sponge wet*** Remove and squeeze it under running water. This is a dense sponge like a Mr. Clean magic eraser style sponge so it doesn't soak up water like a traditional cellulose sponge.

Perfect starter size
I got several of these for my starting colonies with egg-10 workers. Everyone is doing amazing in these even my big compo has plenty of room. I got some red film for the best part and placed it right under the rubber bands and it keeps it in place perfectly. Soak the sponges when you first get them, they come solid like a rock.
