It's pretty nice to never have to razor a new point on a pencil and to not end up with one that is so small it gets lost in the pouch. Would give it five stars but it writes a bit thicker of a line than regular pencil which isn't ideal.

out with the old and hold on to the new!
a very nice for the job and not have to worry about sharing this Pencil it's nice to have one for work and one for home! I bet once you use it you will never go back to the old way of using one ever again! I ask you how many times have you pulled out a knife and worked to get the best point you could ever make! And before you can make a mark dam it breaks !and now you start again! You can put a stop to it and i tell you to keep an eye on it because it will walk away! And you will say man I wish I had bought it sooner! If I'm lying I'm Dien! I just love it!

Great Tool.
Love this product . I had one some time ago and just found it again while doing new flooring and roofing , the only problem was my old one I had lost the top and ran out of lead. So i tried one from Lowes and the lead was so soft I said forget it and just ordered a whole new one from Johnson Level & Tool . You don't have to keep sharpening it like the wood ones and it clips on your pocket or wherever. So now I have lead for my other one and I can leave one on the roof and one on the saw horse down below.

Not so great
It's very hard to get a line right up next to the rule. Not using it because of that.

Every carpenter should have one of these.
We had one of these from a decade or so ago but could not find the lead. When searching for the lead, I found this as well. Everyone on the crew wants one of their own, so talk about easy Christmas stocking gifts!

Realize you get what you pay for...
I did buy one for myself & this one was supposed to be used for a gift in a package. It is NOT well made sadly but it works fine. This one had come out of the package in transit i hope as the package was completely destroyed. The pencil seems to work ok but it had obviously been used! (too late to return it) I guess i will end up putting my cleaner one in the gift pack.I could also go on & on negatively about the shipper but i won't. The pencil was cheap so i did get what i paid for... good luck

Pocket clip broke immediately
Pros: Lead tip doesn't poke through my pocket anymore.Cons: pocket clip broke immediately. Pencil also came in an open package, though it was probably due to rough handling in delivery.I mean it's s still a working pencil lol and the extra lead is nice. Good idea, just not tough enough for a jobsite.

Not much better than an ordinary carpenter’s pencil
I bought this pencil because I was tired of digging around for little pencil stubs once they got worn down, but it felt awkward to mark with and was destroyed after dropping it from about waist height. It has an appealing price tag, but I’d recommend saving up for a more premium mechanical carpenter’s pencil.

Very Usefull
I will never go back to wood pencils. So easy to advance the lead with no sharpening required. The compartment in the back for spare lead is very handy too. This is a great tool for any carpenter.
