Crown automotive linkage repair kit for transfer case
Although the parts are simple and placement aren’t too complicated , the whole job is . To do this job properly , you will have to pick up the rug on the drivers side floor to get to four screws to unbolt a bracket , to release the linkage control rod , to install the new bushing bracket and seals . You may have to remove the drivers seat to pick up the rug . Don’t forget to lubricate with chassis grease before putting together the boot , spring , bushing bracket and shaft seal . Pop out the linkage rods and replace the three supplied plastic bushings . Make certain to use penetrating fluid to loosen the four screws on the threads on the underside of the vehicle . The screw heads are inside , the threads are underside . You don’t want them breaking and complicating the job anymore than it is already . Once everything is back together , the shift lever rod adjustment must be made properly . Consult the manual for proper adjustment procedure . Take necessary precautions to avoid getting debris in your eyes . Have plenty of light while working .

Great product - lengthy install process in TJ
Great parts completely solved the problem. Please note that it damn near impossible to install these bushings with the mechanism under the truck. The bushings are very hard nylon need to to be pressed in and there is not enough room to do so with a c-clamp. I had to remove the console, lever mechanism completely from inside the jeep, the body mount bracket, the t-case mount bracket and the t-case shifter arm to be able to properly replace the bushings. took 2 & 1/2 to 3 hours with adjustment time

Fixed my clunking issue
I had a good clunk coming from right under my feet. Turns out this bushing assembly was worn out. I replaced the worn components but the bushings on the bracket were bad(they don't make the bushings anymore). I ordered 1/2 inch rubber grommets and they fit perfectly in there bracket. I installed new 3/8" bolts and it worked perfectly. No more noise coming from my TJ

Great service kit for XJ Transfer Case Shifter
This is a great service kit for the transfer case shifter. Over time the brass bushing becomes loose which causes the rattle. Mine was missing both gaskets which allowed water and dirt to get into the bushing. This caused it to fail faster. The other bushing for the linkage are extremely hard plastic not rubber like factory. Check yours before tackling them. Mine were okay so I just left the originals in. The best part of the kit is the rubber sleeve with an anti collapse spring inside. It does a fantastic job protecting the brass bushing. The useless part of the kit are the supplied screws. Either buy new ones if yours are broken or reuse the originals.

Cheap hard plastic grommets. AVOID
These are junk. The bushings supplied are hard and crack when installed. DO NOT BUY!
