Able to connect old tech to new tech.
Easy to install, came with all the components needed. Was able to connect a friend's DVD player to a new TV with no RCA jacks and the DVD had no HDMI connection. Worked great.

Great cheap optical converter, but be prepared for a decrease in volume
This converter works great. It feels really well built with a solid metal body, and the connections are simple and work well with no noticeable noise or loss in quality. It even comes with a short optical cable! For my specific use-case, I bought this because I noticed some faint electrical noise coming from my PC line out jack when playing games that needed a lot of resources, and this allowed me to pull from the optical jack on my motherboard and output with a 3.5mm cable to my studio monitor controller and straight into my monitors. This completely got rid of the electrical noise, and has been working great. Two minor complaints I have with this converter: it does not include a USB power supply, which is a bit annoying. However, it's really not picky about the type you have as long as it's a very common 5V 1A plug, and it worked totally fine with one I salvaged from an old electric razor. This converter also caused a noticeable decrease in volume. This would not be an issue in a lot of scenarios, but since I was going from my PC to an optical converter, then into a passive studio monitor controller that already decreased the volume a fair bit, I had to do some tweaking. All my settings were maxed out, so I had to turn to a free third-party program called Equalizer APO to add a +8dB gain boost on my primary audio output. The program is a bit weird to use but I got it working after some trial-and-error, so now it's close to the original output level I was used to.Overall, this is a solid converter and a great option if you need a no-frills optical-to-analog converter, as long as you have some extra headroom to allow for the decrease in volume.

Working perfectly
I had an older system that I needed to hook to a new TV and this thing worked perfect. It gives us great sound and the option to use older equipment with new. I highly recommend this product.

Awesome converter!
Great product! Very easy to hook up. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I used this device to connect the sound from the digital output on my smart LG tv to the analog input on my Bose Companion 5 multimedia speakers. The sound quality coming out on the analog side is clear and superb, and the price for the item was also great. I highly recommend for all of these reasons.

Great converter box for a great price!
I wanted to connect a dvd player to my stereo to use as a cd player. It only had a coaxial and HDMI output, so I needed to convert the coaxial output to RCA connection. This inexpensive bow worked better than expected. A simple, low cost solution. Highly recommended!

Simple and Effective DAC for Coaxial-to-RCA Conversion
I needed a device that could extract audio from a CD player via a digital coaxial cable and convert it to analog output for my mini amp using RCA cables. That’s when I came across this DAC with built-in digital-to-analog conversion. I thought—why not get a basic DAC that also handles the cable conversion I was looking for? There are both positive and negative reviews online about this product. One expert even called it “junk” with poor sonic quality, despite being a DAC. I chose to ignore that review because my primary need was the cable conversion functionality. After testing this DAC with my mini amp (which lacks a built-in DAC), I’m fully satisfied. The sound quality from the mini amp has clearly improved compared to when no DAC was used, and I now enjoy listening to my CD collection through this setup.Given its affordable price and reliable digital-to-analog conversion, I have no complaints at all.
