Superb survival knife, big belly, excellent for bushcraft, and the best factory edge I've ever seen.
ESEE might be the best manufacturer of fixed blades in the world. I own many ESEE knives, and I have never been disappointed. This particular knife is my favorite, and the reason is that it's so comfortable to use and just cuts anything with ease. This is probably the sharpest knife I've ever owned on a fixed blade. This knife is very versatile, as you can use it literally for anything. If you're a minimalist, this knife is excellent for survival and bushcraft applications. This knife would also make a nice utility knife or even a hunting knife. Another thing is that this knife is small enough to where you could edc it, and you would forget it's even on you. Obviously, this knife can't do everything due to its size, but this knife will not rust on you either. If you're camping and have either an ESEE 5, 6 or a Junglus for heavy duty jobs like processing wood, then this knife here will do everything else you need including food prep, dressing game, and serving as an outstanding utility knife while also excelling at the finer bushcrafting applications. You will enjoy this knife, but be darn careful when you use it, because this knife don't take no prisoners when it comes to cutting.

EDC worthy
Esee 3 s35vn, i had a 1095 esee 3 , izulas in 1095 but after picking up the izula in s35vn i knew i had to get the 3 in s35vn. I've beat the snot out of my izula and it has held up amazingly, the 1 video on utoob of them breaking the 3 is no reason to shy away from the s35vn. Ive managed to go my whole life without having to baton wood with a knife , I've done it out of want but not need . This esee 3 is sweet , its a tad thinner than the izula which makes it a super slicer , its very thin behind the edge , the factory edge is spectacular . I have no problems sharpening s35vn or s30v with just a stone , ceramic rod and leather strop , takes a few more minutes than 1095 . Ive not noticed a huge difference in edge retention between the 2 which is more due to using the right tool for the job . I swapped out the rounded scales for the flat scales off my 1095 , i don't care for the look of the 3d scales , the flat scales are great i think . The stock esee sheaths are great but i ordered anothe armitus sheath for my new esee 3 . This is a great knife despite what the nay sayers on utoob claim.

Great knife for edc on Some Texas land!
We live on 8 acres of pasture and we are surrounded by 1,800 acres of woods and pasture. I realized very quickly that a good multi tool and a great knife are worth their weight in gold. I’ve been looking for the perfect knife to carry on my hip while doing work around the property and I have found it. I originally ordered the 1095 version, but the Texas heat and humidity will expose the knife to a lot of sweating. This knife is meant for work, I’m not batoning with the s35vn. This thing is holding its edge wonderfully and I trust that it won’t be rusting due to the moisture from my body. This has cut twine, cut off small twigs for a fire, cuts the super thick line for a walk behind trimmer, opens chicken feed and cuts through thick straps on new equipment and packaging like butter. I’ll camp with my esee 6, and this will be on my hip. I’ll work and this will be on my hip. I understand this will be more brittle than 1095, but I needed the edge retention and stainless qualities over the beat-ability. The seller is also wonderful. I’ve sent back 2 knives to them due to me receiving them and the knives not being what I was looking for. I’ve also ordered an additional 4 or 5 from them and all have been shipped promptly and arrived as pictured.

Great knife for those worried about rust. Great company with amazing warranty
Great steel! Most survival knifes are made of 1095 high carbon steel. It has many good properties. Steel resistance is not one of them. That's where this knife comes in. If you want a lower maintenance steel this is it. It might give up some of the capabilities of the 1095 steel but it makes up for them in rust resistance. Plus it comes with Esee's lifetime warranty which is second to none. ***Here is the warranty from their site as of the date this is being written*** THE FINE PRINT: Our warranty is pretty simple: if you break it, we will repair or replace it. We will not question the validity of your warranty claim for a broken knife, handles, sheath, clip plate or hardware. Warranty is lifetime and transferable. In other words, we warranty these products no matter how many times they have been traded, sold or given away – no sales receipt or proof of purchase required. We must have these products returned to validate a warranty claim. ESEE KNIVES ARE NOT THROWING KNIVES! They are hardened to a higher Rockwell than throwing knives and will most likely break if thrown, possibly harming the user. So, do yourself and your ESEE knife a favor and DO NOT throw it. Using any knife not meant to be thrown as a throwing knife is idiotic! We would rather idiots not buy our knives. We do not warranty against rust, normal wear and tear, loss, or theft. If you need replacement handles, sheaths, clip plates or hardware due to loss or normal wear, please visit our store. We do not warranty consumables found in our survival kits. Our carbon steel knives are made from 1095 High Carbon Steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional field knives, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for – especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user’s responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. It is normal for the coating to wear with use. Our stainless knives are warrantied just like our carbon steel knives. However, we advise that because they are hardened to a higher Rockwell hardness than our carbon steel knives, they are easier to break if you pry with them. This no-questions-asked warranty only applies to ESEE Knives and EXPAT Knives. All Avispa and Zancudo folder warranty requests must go to Blueridge Knives (not ESEE Knives), since we do not manufacture these products.

New EDC found
New EDC. This knife is borderline perfect. Arrives razor sharp right out of the box. The ESEE clip is easily installed in seconds with a basic screwdriver. Has a nice finger notch in the bolster for precision cutting/carving work. If you're looking for a good fixed blade, all-around knife for an EDC ... look no further. This one is a keeper.

The S35vn and 3D handles sold me on the Esee 3, as well as the lifetime no hassle warranty. The G10 handle design can be a little slippery and the sheath/clip system cannot accommodate scout carry without modification, hence the 4 stars. Otherwise a fantastic knife.
