Duran Duran A Diamond In The Mind – Live 2011 is available on 180g double vinyl including the LP bonus track “Is There Something I Should Know?”. Recorded at the MEN Arena in Manchester, Duran Duran makes it clear that they haven’t aged a bit since their glory days in the 80s. Bursting with energy, this live album captures the band performing their classics such as “A View To A Kill”, “Ordinary World”, “Wild Boys” and “Rio”, as well as tracks from their most recent album at that time “All You Need Is Now”, produced by British-American musician, songwriter and producer Mark Ronson.

Amazing Live Album!!
This is Duran Duran at their finest!! The live performance that makes you feel like you're there. I love this album and highly recommend.

Great live recording, but various releases can be confusing, so read on...
A Diamond in the Mind started out as a DVD and a CD release of a live show recorded at the Manchester Arena on the All You Need is Now tour in 2011. In 2014, The Vinyl Factory issued a limited run of 2000 copies of a 180g vinyl version of the concert. The release is best known for gold the diamond dust on the sleeve (it looks like gold glitter). In 2020, Ear Music issued a special UK Record Store Day pink vinyl version with a limited run of 600 (only available in the UK - booooooo). Finally, a 180g black vinyl version was released by Ear Music in Germany in 2020 for anyone who wasn't able to get their hands on a copy of the diamond dust or pink versions of the record.I mention this so you can be aware of what you're buying prior to making the purchase. It is available on CD, so if you're not committed to a vinyl LP, you can always pick that up.Duran Duran has a history of overproducing their live recordings (*glares at Arena*), but this album does a great job of catching the excitement of a live show without feeling like it was put through the production ringer. The tour itself was one of the best Duran Duran offerings and it's nice to have a "record" (I'm punny. Derp.) of it.

Great album, so-so pressing.
I love this album, but some of the tracks are a little muddy on the LP. The CD & stream feels clearer.

Missed out on the RSD 2020 one
Tried hard to get the RSD 2020 pink version of this, then noticed they seem to have released the standard version on at the same time, can’t compare pressings, though more than happy with this. Copy received German pressing. Hype sticker says virgin vinyl 180gram ltd edition. So if you do not want to pay silly prices for pink version, highly highly recommended this one...

Sub par mix and master.
Love the band but the sound quality on this recording is horrible. All the wrong instruments are showcased and it doesn't sound anything like the studio recording. Eg... I can barely even hear the keyboards on "Hungry Like the Wolf" and that is the key sound that the song is known for. Not sure if the engineer had little to work with because maybe the band isn't great live or if it was just mixed and mastered terribly. Regardless I would not recommend this record.
