Vertx Men's Phantom Ops Powered by Airflow Pants

My husband and I love these pants! We had originally bought a similar pair in black (without the mesh) and although my husband loved him for their versatility and durability, I was less than impressed with the look of them. These, however, satisfy all of our criteria for a successful purchase. They are durable, great for the outdoors, etc., but they are also a very good looking pair of pants and the green is the perfect shade. My husband no longer looks like he's wearing snowboarding pants everywhere he goes.

Great construction and design. A step above 5.11's which is pretty good. The only disadvantage I had was wearing coveralls with these pants. The problem was the airflow netting is abrasive against the inside of my legs due to the coveralls forcing the material against my skin. Otherwise, I love these pants and will by more.

Very happy with these pants, I've been using these weekly for over a year now in Phoenix in 110 degrees + weather for lightsaber sparring, which involves a lot of running around during games with quick movements. The mesh creates a nice bellows type action as you move around which actually keeps my legs cooler than when I'm wearing shorts. I love all the additional pockets and the material of the pants holds up very well. They run a little small however, I normally wear a 38x34 pant and for vertx pants I've had to get 40x34 - that's not much of an issue for me, I just know what size I need to get now. The only thing that keeps me from giving these 5 stars is that on 2 out of the 3 pants I've gotten in this series, the part where the zipper is sewn into the pants has ripped open which has given those pants a permanently open fly... need to attack them with a sewing machine I guess. Overall I'm very happy with these pants and they're the only ones I would get for any sort of action out here in the desert.

Excellent fit, durable fabric and stitching, a grip of pockets, and so comfortable on these hot summer days. I get a lot of compliments and inquiries.

This is an incredible set of pants. I had read MilSpecMonkey's lengthy review of the Fighter Design idea back in the middle of 2013, and thought this idea would never come about in a more affordable package. Man was I glad to be ever so wrong. Once the "Airflow" was licensed to VertX, I couldn't wait to get a pair. The fabric is stiff for a poly/cotton blend, but after a few washes it softens up. It won't be a 5.11 TacLite kind of thinness, but it is still comfortable. I point this out because I was a little disappointed when I opened the shipping box, and found the pants just as almost rough/stiff as the shipping box it came in. Hah. The mesh used in integral places are key to its design. The act of walking facilities a breeze through the pant-way and it does what it promises to do, it keeps you cool. The pockets are excellent, with thought given to the placement of accessories such as flashlights and knives/tools. A note about the cargo pockets; due to the mesh inside and some out, I wouldn't recommend two full pistol mags, much less rifle mags such as some cargos can be made to accommodate. Do know these cargo pockets will be the size you're used to in other pants, so don't dismay on the capacity, my doubts (and perhaps unfounded) lie in the ability to have full mags in their while committed to a jog in training. Also know there isn't a stitch of hook and loop tape on these pants, but the pockets are designed with the flap sewn over to keep everything in its respective place. It works very well, and I have found nothing escapes in prone or fetal prone, and general crawling around. The waist has some slight give due to elastic inserts, as found in many brands catered to concealed carry. Know that these have the least amount of give of pants that I've tried, so if you carry IWB with not only your main, but your BUG and or spare mags, I'd encourage a size up to facilitate room. There are no pockets at the knees for kneepad inserts, but that has never bothered me as I don't utilize them on other pants that have them anyway. Just food for thought. All in all, they are an incredibly great idea and VertX has executed it very well here.
