Very nice case, thick & protects well, 4.5 stars
Purchased 1/3, arrived 1/19/24. Fits Walkman well, has good protection all around, fairly thick case. I like it very much, feel like Walkman is protected. Buttons all work well, like that the play button has clear tactile difference, I can easily distinguish it. Only negative is the touch panel slide button is much harder to access, due to case thickness. Can't use one handed, but it's a small issue. Very nice case overall, would give 4.5 stars if could.

Excellent case: rugged and well designed
This FatBear case is a bit more expensive than some but well worth it. The case for my Sony Walkman A55 fits perfectly. It is rugged and well designed, with perfect alignment of the skin with the Sony's control buttons. Most important for me, there is plenty of room around the earphone jack, so wired phones with a large or right-angle plug can access the jack easily, which is not so for many cases. The power/sync cable slot has plenty of room as well. While there's not a cutout for the memory card slot, the case installs easily and can be taken off without problem, so if you want to change a card, it's not a big inconvenience. I've looked at many cases for my Walkman, and this is the best I've found by far. I plan to buy FatBear cases for my Samsung T7 drives. My only criticism is that FatBear should offer more cases for iPhones (as the only ones on offer are for the 15).

tight fit,
Great case, but difficult to get on and off, it has softened a bit, but still difficult. You will probably break some fingernails, I did. First thing, the rocker switch portion was way too tight and kept adjusting the volume by itself, I removed the case and I pushed on it from the inside repeatedly with the end of a spoon stretching it and eventually it stopped changing the volume when I put it on. btw, taking this case on and off presses the power button, make sure you have it locked if you don't want to turn on your player. It comes with 2 screen protector films, which I used one while waiting on a tempered glass one to arrive, worked fine - but fingerprint and smudge city to be sure. I comes with 2 lanyards/straps - one short ,one long - neither of which I will use on the Sony - the small one won't fit around my hand, the large one will just end up getting caught on something and is too small to go around my neck and still be able to work and see the screen. But on to the case, it seems very sturdy and will definitely help protect against shock damage should I drop the Sony DAP... and if that doesn't do it, I did get an Asurion Accident Protection plan, for the cost of it vs. the cost of the NWA55, it is well worth it for 3 years. (no, I don't work for Asurion, but I did sell electronics for a long time, and all hand held electronics get dropped at least once or more times eventually) The Fat Bear Sony hard case, is a decent bargain for the money, all the buttons function properly and it does have a nice feel to the hand. I gave it only 4 stars because of the difficulty removing and putting the case on, hence the name HARD CASE I guess. I would buy again.

Perfect! Protects my device and I appreciate that it includes a tempered glass screen protector as well. Highly recommend.

Comfortable and durable
Very comfortable fit in my hand, even with a big hand on a small device. Buttons are easy to press. Dropped it for the first time today (from ~1.5m up on rough sidewalk), absolutely no damage to device and even no visible damage to the case. Very impressed.

Had low expectations but was presently surprised
This is really a nice rugged case for the music player. Fits nice in the hand... buttons are easy to use... all ports and the switch are not obstructed at all ... micro SD card area is covered to not have to worry about losing that too. But now I don't have to worry about dropping it when I'm about and I don't need a special adapter to fit in a hole for the headphone jack or Walkman sync cable. And the price can't be beat either. Glad I picked this over some leather case or wallet case. This was the way to go.

Great case
I wasn’t expecting much from this case but it ended up being pretty good. It’s soft but not too soft. I thought it was going to be like those soft jelly silicone case but it’s a bit more rigid than that. It definitely will protect your Walkman. I was surprised to find screenprotectors in the box along with the case. I was bummed out when I purchased some screen protectors only to find out they will get here a month after my Walkman. This case came with two of them. They are not glass screen protectors they are plastic film but still that’s waaaaay better than nothing. They’re work perfectly meanwhile I wait for the glass ones. In the box you also get a couple of different lanyards and a bunch of small “Hi Res Audio” stickers. For $15 you definitely get your monies worth in my opinion. I thought all I was getting was the case. I was happy to see they threw in some extra stuff, especially those screen protectors. The only bad thing about this case, and this might be a big one for some people, is that the case doesn’t have a cut-out for the Sd card. If you switch out sd’s often this might be annoying.

...with a couple of issues. First, this case is advertised as coming with screen protectors - but it didn't. Second, the case material is quite inflexible. Whilst this is good with regards to the amount of protection it provides, unfortunately it means that pressing one button may actually operate the adjacent button too; I've found that using the power button also operates the volume-up button, though I'm hoping that with use, the case will "break in" a bit, and become a bit more flexible. Also, there's very little haptic feedback from the buttons; you can feel the click on the play button, not so much on the rewind and fast-forward buttons, and not at all on the volume and power buttons. Again, with continued use, this may change for the better. I have, though, noticed that putting the case on and off a few times has helped a bit with this issue. With regards to fitting, the case is extremely snug and secure, with no worries about it slipping off. Although there are "bumpers" on the sides of the case, they are noticeably absent on the corners, however, the case material is quite thick so should be able to handle impacts well. In the hand, the case is very smooth and not particularly grippy like some polymers; this isn't an issue for me, but if you prefer a more rubbery feel, look at the Inorlo case instead. Finally, there's no cover over the charging/data port; again, not a problem for me, but may be something to keep in mind, and if it's a deal breaker for you, the Inorlo case does have a protective flap to cover the port. If you intend to use a lanyard, expect to swear a lot while trying to fit it, though this is no different to any other case as Sony haven't made it an easy thing to attach without a case on the Walkman, let alone with one fitted. Overall, the Fat Bear is not a bad case at all, and it may well improve with use; I'm certainly not unhappy with my purchase, though at twice the price of its Inorlo competitor I would have hoped for something that required no breaking-in period and was perfect straight out of the box.
